A blue sky. The sound of the ocean and a small figure with blonde hair gazing at it all arms outstretched. It is a peaceful image and it doesn't look real. It's like a painting, an unobtainable world. The image holds some sort of sadness...

Armin Arlert a fifteen year old male woke up from a peaceful dream. In this dream he was outside beyond the huge walls that surrounded the place he had always lived for his young life. He had been kept in this building enclosed in walls since he was born he had no idea what happened to his parents. This was the only life he knew where he was kept locked away along with another boy his age called Eren the only friend he ever had. There was something strange about Eren and himself that singled them out. He didn't know what it was.

He felt arms wrap around him from behind. "Good morning Armin." A voice said in his ear. "Good morning Eren." Armin said with a smile. They gazed out of the window at the blue sky. "We will go out there one day." Eren said confidentially. Armin nodded. They were so sheltered in this room. Neither of them knew a lot about the world outside apart from looking in books that should have been taken away.

Footsteps approached the room. Their food had arrived. The one who delivered the food was a teenager girl around their age with short black hair and a cold demeanor, however Armin had often caught her staring at them with a sympathetic expression. They didn't know anything about her. They didn't know why they were here all their lives. They had no idea about the dangers they were going to face in the near future.

One of Armin's earliest memories was spending the holiday known as Christmas in this small enclosed room with his companion Eren. They could hear people singing in the building and the boys were given a wonderful meal and two gifts each. They always spent Christmas in their own company. They had never played together in the snow. The room was cold when it snowed so they could only imagine how cold snow actually felt.

One night was different from every other night, there was the sound of panicked voices. The dark haired girl appeared at their door, she waved her hand indicating for them to come out, Eren grabbed Armin's hand and they walked out of the door following the girl. Their surroundings were very strange and new to them. The walls were painted white. They continued following the girl until she opened the front door.

Eren and Armin took gentle steps into the world outside. The walls surrounding the building had been broken. Eren and Armin were seeing first hand some of the dangers the outside world presented. They heard a great roaring noise, looking up they saw one of the biggest creatures they had ever seen in their lives. It was frightening. They ran as fast as they could from the creature.

There were horses at the gate, Eren helped Armin onto the horse and with the help of the girl they were able to ride the horse safely. Neither boy knew where they were going but they hoped it would be away from that huge creature. Little did they know that they would be seeing that creature known as a titan sooner than they thought...
