A/N: I just started season 4 and Poussey/Brooke remains my OTP. They are such an underrated couple.
Theirs is the kind of love
that looks strange on the outside,
flawed and messy and strange beyond comprehension,
at least so say onlookers
whose opinions don't mean much
because they aren't in love.
Poussey knows that Brook deserves the world
(and then some)
but how do you explain
that kind of unwavering devotion
to those who once harassed her
(for the very reasons Poussey loved Brook)?
It's a shame, really,
that people can't see past
their shallow incompatibility
because all that mattered was
that their love was true:
it was pure and precocious,
full of life with sparks flying everywhere
and chemistry oozing from their very pores.
Poussey doesn't know how long this will last
but any length is better than nothing.
