It was a beautiful, sunny morning in mid July. A warm and pleasant breeze brushed past the trees, causing the luscious green leaves to rustle gently. The cheerful chirping of the birds and the soft rustle of leaves created a beautiful, soothing tune.
The forest was teaming with life: various insects drifting in the gentle breeze, birds flying elegantly in the sky, fish gliding swiftly through a brook, and a wide variety of healthy plants. But despite the many inhabitants, the forest was tranquil and calm.
The tranquility was disrupted by a soft whirring noise that gradually got louder. A blue police box faded into view, and the whirring noise stopped when it was solid.
The door opened and a tall, young-looking man stepped out. He had dark, curly hair that was partially hidden by a floppy fedora. He wore a brown frock coat, trousers, an open-necked ecru dress shirt with question marks adorning the collar, a pair of knee-high leather boots, and a ridiculously long multi-coloured scarf. He inspected the area with piercing, cerulean blue eyes.
"Romana!" he called back to the police box. "Romana! Come on!"
"Alright, alright! I'm coming, no need to be so impatient," a young women replied with a huff of indignation. She looked only a bit younger than her impatient friend. She had straight, blonde hair that reached halfway down her back and grey-blue eyes that had a playful shine to them. She wore a long white v-neck dress that had a faint striped pattern and long sleeves with a beaded lace-up belt and a pair of silver heels. Her hair was held back by a white headband and styled.
"Where are we Doctor?" Romana asked.
"I don't know to be honest. I just received a message... and I traced it to this source," the Doctor answered, even more confused than Romana. "We are somewhere in the 21st century though... I doubt she would've stayed in Croydon for this long..." a slight smile was on his lips as he spoke.
"Who?" she questioned carefully.
"...an old friend of mine. She travelled with me near to the end of my previous incarnation and witnessed my regeneration into my surrent. She travelled with me for a long time... She was my best friend... But the Time Lords called me back to Gallifrey, and she'd said before that she was leaving... It broke my hearts to have to leave her.. and even now, after so long, I still miss her... But I never forgot her. I received an urgent message from her saying that she needed my help..."
"Well then! What are we waiting for?" Romana shouted suddenly and eagerly. The Doctor turned to her and a massive grin spread across his face at his companion's enthusiasm.
"Come on then! Let's go and try to find her!"he said.
