"Come on Icekit! Wake up! I want to go and explore!" Explore! "Ok, ok! I'm getting up." Firekit was standing over me. I felt my heart beat faster and my spine tingle when I saw him, as always. We walked outside together and both stared in wonder as we saw the camp for the first time. "wow. It's so pretty." "HEY!" we jumped as we heard a new voice. We saw a blur of black and white and a pretty white and pink she-cat. " hey there! I'm Flowerpaw! Are you Icekit?" "yes" "well then, I'm your sister. Swiftpaw here is your brother. Swiftpaw say hi." "hi." He said gruffly. " he's grumpy because Dustpaw and Owlpaw decided to play a prank on him and put thorns in his nest." "oh." "well we have to go border patrol. Bye!" "bye." "they seem nice" "yeah." A disgusting scent him my nose. "EW! What's that smell?" "I don't know. Let's go find out!" we followed the scent to the fresh-kill. I scooted the prey to the side and found a sparrow that had millions of tiny white bugs. "I don't think that that's supposed to be there." "it's not" we jumped as a second voice scared us. We turned around and saw a big tom with long-haired orange and black fur. "who are you?" "I'm Clawstar, little Icekit" "you're my mother's father!" "yes. And well scented. If someone ate that we'd have a problem on our hands. Why are you out here?" "we're exploring the camp!" "well you should try the elders den. They love new kits." "ok! Bye!" "good-bye."
When we got there we were greeted with a wet lick. "ew." "Firekit! Shush!" "it's ok. I'm Hollytail. This is Lionclaw and Foxfeather." "Hi! I'm Icekit and he's Firekit" "ahh... The young royalty." "huh?" "just joking." We stayed for a little while and learned of the warrior code and how bad it was not having a medicine cat and what one does. We learned of badgers and dogs and foxes and twolegs and the other clans and all the evil cats of the old forest. We learned what it was like to be a warrior. It was then that I decided to be the greatest warrior ever and then, elders of all of the clans would tell my story, every cat would know my name. "you should go. Firekit looks dead on his paws and it's almost dark." "ok. Bye." "Bye!" we left ,and I was half carrying Firekit. We were finally to the nursery. "Good-night Icekit." "Good-night Firekit." As I turned to leave, he gave me a quick lick on the cheek. "Good-night Icekit."
As I curled up next to my mother, I asked her why I keep feeling a tingling feeling every time I see Firekit.
