Chapter 1: the tale and the plan

"There is a legend in this very land of Hyrule about a great hero caught in the middle of a great struggle between good and evil. The evil originally spoken of in this land was named Vaati, but the Hero of Four faced an evil even greater than Vaati. He faced the gerudo Ganon, believed to be a reincarnation of the last gerudo to share that name or perhaps possessed by his evil spirit. The Hero of Four sealed this demon within the Four Sword and he hasn't been seen since then." Says a village elder named Link (the Link from Four Swords Adventures) to the children of his village. This included his 6-year old grandson who was also named Link. "This was about 50-60 years ago."

"Wow grandpa." The young Link said in amazement. "Where did you come across this tale?"

"It was told to me by a traveler I once met while I was young." The older Link said.

Unknown to everyone in the small village the retired knight Link lived evil was brewing in a hidden cave in Hyrule…

"Fellow minions of the evil king Ganon. We have remained in hiding these past 55 years since our master was sealed in that accursed Four Sword. Now we found the son of one of the ones that helped seal him in the Four Sword who knew how to break the seal and free our master from that blade. He told us how to break the seal and free Ganon. He told our brother servants of darkness that the seal will break as soon as everyone who helped trap him within the Four Sword, as well as ones who placed that seal over it to prevent his escape, dies." A moblin said. "Then we killed him."

"We know who was involved with this." A wizrobe said. "The six shrine minions of that time, the old Zelda and the retired knight Link. I know that the Zelda from that time died of an illness a few years ago."

"The whole kingdom knows that Wizrobe." Said a dark wizard that served both this Ganon and the first Ganon*. "I know more than that. One of the old shrine maidens was murdered by bandits, four were devoured by a dragon about a year after our master was sealed, one lives in Kakariko village, and the Link that defeated him lives in a small village south of Kakariko. They tried their best to prolong the master's return. We won't be able to escape to Hyrule our power returns in 15 years. On that day, we will free Lord Ganon so he can conquer this world! Ha ha ha ha ha ha!"

*This whole fan fic is based on the "Multiple Ganons" theory. For those of you that don't know what this is, there is a theory going around in the Zelda community that over the course of the Zelda games there are two, possibly three different Ganondorfs (whether they are reincarnations of the original Ganondorf is unknown at this time). The first Ganon was the Ganon from Ocarina of Time who dies in either The Wind Waker or Twilight Princess depending on the timeline. It is heavily implied that Four Swords Adventures introduces a new Ganon who was never a threat to Hyrule in the past. Many of us believe that the Ganon from FSA (Four Swords Adventures, I like using the abbreviated names for the games) is the one that appears in ALTTP, the oracles, and possibly LOZ. This takes place between FSA and ALTTP and is the Imprisoning War mentioned in ALTTP.
