Prologue:
"You wouldn't DARE to defy me, now would you?" The words were still and listless in the dark of the night. I control you. You are under my command. You disobey, and my hand might just. . . slip, and kill one of your most closest companions. . . You wouldn't want that, now would you?
She looked sharply at his precise features that could no more save a human than capture a water spirit.
"That's what I thought. All you have to do is get close to the Sohmas'. Prove that their supernatural background of turning into animals is true. They will be shunted for life. Nothing could save them. No money, nothing to live for. . . Just misery, pain, and death. His cruel laugh cut through the darkness like knives.
She spoke through gritted teeth. Her eyes flashed to look at this cruel, heartless man. "You can't make me. You can't make me destroy innocent people. I'm not heartless like you are. I'm humane, and you CAN'T MAKE ME HURT PEOPLE! She was screaming now. She tried to pull away from her binds, but all they did, was cut into her wrists even harder. She winced from the pain.
He laughed a laugh that didn't reach his eyes. They remained as cold and cruel as his personality. "You think that I, the most powerful man in this country can't make you do what I want? You'd be surprised. He walked over and put his finger to her cheek. "You WILL do as I say. She could feel his rancid breath on her face. Or else. . ."
