Finally. It was over. He was free.
She peered into the darkness, but she was too nervous to stay in one place and began walking back and forth. These last few minutes were harder than all those lonely years of waiting.
She was caught with her back toward the opened balcony door when she heard his steps. She froze with eyes closed and felt his gentle hands on her shoulders while his lips touched her neck. "Ro…"
"Zee…" she whispered, her thin body twisted in his arms and her lips met his.
It was over. And it had begun. Finally.
