Why the hell do I even have to bear the pain of seeing you every single day?

Of course I have to see you every day. You're my teammate, after all.

But, still. There's more to that.

Whenever you're around, I'll have to look at your perfect, flowing blond locks and find my fingers longing to caress them.

I'll have to see your twinkling hazelnut eyes out of nowhere, dazzling like nothing ever happened to us.

I'll have to blush secretly whenever you smile like a cute kitten at me.

I'll have to put up with getting hurt every time I see you cry.

Luce, I want to ask you something.

Why did you lie to me in the first place?

Sure, you didn't want to be rivals with Lisanna. You didn't want to share-possibly me- with her. And you knew that for sure, you don't stand a chance against her.

But what if you did? I was waiting for you. I'm waiting for you. Somehow you never saw that you definitely stood a chance.

From the start, I never loved her. You were the one who filled my life with indescribable happiness. Not her.

So I heard your questions, Luce. I could tell that you're regretting everything.

You asked me if she fed me ice cream? Sure, she did. But it never tasted as good as when you let me eat yours.

You asked if she ruffled my hair? Of course she did. Like, everyone does.

You asked if she made my house sparkling clean? Somehow, she cleaned, but it never really sparkled.

You asked if she stopped me from going to battles? Yeah. But I just couldn't resist.

You asked if she saw a different side of me? Yeah, she always does. I don't joke around when you come across my mind.

You asked if she kissed my tears away? She tried to, but she couldn't. You just kept my heart breaking to pieces.

Then you said you haven't done those first. Why? Did you want to do those first?

And finally, you asked if she made me forget about my pain that you know you've caused.

Here's what you want to hear, Luce.

She never did.

She could never replace you. She could never be you. Because, for all I know, you're the only one who could do that.

I never deserved anyone better than you, Luce. Perhaps maybe no one is even better than you.

So if you're thinking of being contented because I'm happy with her, you're definitely wrong.

I was never happy with her in the first place.

Two last requests, Lucy Heartphilia.

Don't ever, ever let me go.

And promise me you'll never lie to yourself and everybody, ever again.

Because this time, I'll be the one who's running after you.

And probably telling the whole world that, heck, I don't love Lisanna.
