A\N: I've had this thing on my peice-of-cra computer for months. So I thought I'd share.
TOMMY
I wait.
Kira's still just staring at the wall. I sigh inwardly.
"Remembering Trent?"
She glances up sharply. She might not be talking, but she's certianly aware of what I say.
I was her mentor once, after all.
"Remember how I killed him?" I ask, goading her.
She looks away, and I see the tears. It's only been a month. It's nowhere near enough time to recover from seeing your loved one tortured to death.
Exactly what we want.
The Dark Court was glad to see Mesegog once he'd shown them the video of Trent's death. They were even more glad to see me, since I killed him.
"He died for you. I think you'd appreciate that." I smile cruelly. "You'll die for the Angel."
She shakes her head quietly.
I raise an eyebrow. "How so? You're captive, nearly dead, and nobody is going to bother letting you heal until you are dead."
She doesn't move. Even when she won't talk, she doesn't do anything to betray the Angel.
I smile wryly. The Angel. The mysterious, flying child...probably not anything to worry about, as far as I'm concerned.
"I found Ethan."
Kira's eyes widen.
"I wonder...should I let you watch him die?" I ask.
"Don't. Don't kill him."
The sound of her voice stops me cold. It's...strange. She had a beautiful voice, but now it's hoarse, broken from her screams.
"Please. He doesn't know anything. Let him go."
I smile cruelly. A large part of me doesn't care very much what Kira thinks. "What should I do instead? The Dark Court wants information. I don't have it."
Kira shuts her eyes. She'll let her freinds die to protect the Angel. It breaks her, leaves her suicidal, but she'll do it.
"How much did you tell him?" I ask her.
"Nothing. I never told him anything. I'm the one who knows about the Angel."
Inviting me to torture her again, letting me break her..."Why Ethan?" I raise an eyebrow. "Is he a good lover? Have to be better than Trent for you to beg this way."
"He's a damn kid."
I smile. There we go. Speech.
Kira pauses. "Is that what you wanted? For me to talk to you?"
"Yeah, pretty much."
Kira turns away. Being intuitive let her survive, giving us tiny scraps of information that give us no choice but to keep her alive.
I get up. "You'll have company soon, Kira." I whisper quietly. "I think you'll like him."
Then I walk away.
A few hours later, Mesegog tells me Kira's cell is empty.
That's my girl.
