Prompt: If You Only Knew – Shinedown

JJ was standing next to Hotch and she couldn't hide the smile on her face. She saw the way he kept looking at Emily and she couldn't help but wonder when he would get the courage up to tell her how he felt. After all it was New Year's Eve. She decided then and there that she would give him a little push. "Hotch why don't you just tell Emily how you feel?"

Hotch dragged his eyes away from where Emily was standing next to Reid and talking to him and looked at JJ in shock. "What are you talking about JJ?"

JJ couldn't stop the snort from exiting her mouth. "Hotch you love Emily and everyone but Emily can see this. You just need to walk up to her before it hits midnight and tell her that you love her and then kiss her."

Hotch's mouth dropped open in shock but then he gave a light chuckle. "I'll tell Emily how I feel JJ if you tell Reid how you feel. Do you really think I didn't notice you staring at him like I was staring at Emily? As for why I don't tell Emily how I feel is because I'm not sure she feels the same way as me."

JJ shook her head and groaned. "If you only knew Hotch. I know that Emily loves you. I catch her looking at you all the times. How do you know that I have feelings for Spence?"

Hotch just laughed and shook his head. "JJ anyone with eyes can tell that you have feelings for Reid. Anytime we're on a case you are constantly looking at him to make sure that he's alright. He loves you too JJ. I think we should make a New Years resolution together. I think the resolution should be that we tell the ones who hold our hearts that we love them."

JJ looked at Hotch and saw the seriousness in his eyes and she smiled. "You have yourself a deal Hotch. Now how do we do it?"

Hotch looked over once again to where Emily and Reid were still standing and talking and then he smiled. "When the clock strikes midnight we will walk over together and then kiss them before we finally tell them how we feel."

JJ thought for a minute and then grinned. "I like that idea Hotch. I'm going to love seeing the look on both Emily's and Spence's face when we do this."

Hotch chuckled and looked at his watch. "Well we have about a minute left so get ready."

With that being said both Hotch and JJ went back to staring at Emily and Spencer and they both couldn't help but wonder what the two were talking about. As the lock stroke midnight they both slowly made their way over to where Emily and Spencer were standing looking at them.
