Count Tyln Dooku, Count and Senator of Serenno, listened to the Senator of Anu, Saria Taylor, speak, saying that the Trade Federation should be watched by the Republic.
She was young, at least by his standards, only in her early to mid-thirties, stood at 5' 4", and had long black hair.
"Does anyone second the motion?" Chancellor Palpatine asked once she had finished.
No one moved, though whispers were heard all around.
"The system of Serenno wishes to second the motion and speak," Dooku called, his smooth, baritone easily heard by Palpatine over the whispers.
"Granted. Come forward and speak."
The Serenno box floated up alongside the Anu box.
"Honorable delegates, in only two short years, you seem to have forgotten the trouble the Trade Federation caused on Naboo, killing hundreds of innocent people and a Jedi Master and attempting to backmail and then kill the queen. If this is not reason enough to monitor them, what is?"
The majority voted in favor of monitoring the Trade Federation.

"Count Dooku."
Dooku stopped and turned to see Saria coming towards him.
"Senator Taylor, how may I help you?" he asked once she reached him.
"I'd like to thank you for what you did and said in there."
The Count shrugged.
"It was merely the truth."
Saria smiled, her emerald eyes sparkling with laugher.
"Well, thank you anyway."
"You're welcome, Senator."
Saria, still smiling, shook her head a little.
"Please, call me Saria. 'Senator' is too formal among allies and friends, at least in my opinion."
Dooku gave her a charming smiling that touched his dark eyes, which almost made him look a little younger.
"In some cases I'd agree to that myself but not all cases. Very well then,... Saria."
He held out his hand.
"Call me Tyln."
Saria smiled and shook his hand.
"Until our paths cross once more, Saria," Dooku said after they let go.
The eldery Count bowed gracefully and left for the apparments where he was currently staying.
Saria looked after his tall form until he disappeared from sight and started back for her own apparments.
Unknown to either senator, something that would become strong and beautiful had been started.
