"Are you serious?"
"Of course I'm Sirius! Who else would I be?"
A roll of the eyes. "Stop kidding around, Padfoot. I mean it. Why can't you be serious?"
"But that's who I am! I'm a very serious Sirius. You should know that by now, Moony! I'm always Sirius. Seriously."
"But what you just said… is it true? That's what I meant."
A grin. "I know what you meant. And to answer your question: yes, I was being serious. Like I said, I'm always Sirius."
"…That pun never gets old to you, does it?"
"Nope! And it never fails to make good ol' James crack up."
"…Well, it's getting old to me. Could you stop?"
"Never! I can never stop being Serious Sirius; it's just too fun!"
"…And unfitting. You're always joshing around, mate. You're hardly ever serious."
"Ah, but on the contrary, Moony-old-boy, you know that I am. I'm serious in everything I do; I'm serious about my pranks, serious about my jokes, and serious about my feelings."
"So it is true, then? What you said?"
"As true as Godric Gryffindor's sword in battle, mate."
"Good, I'm glad. For a minute there, I thought you were just pulling my leg when you said that you loved me."
"Ah, but I never pull on legs without good reason, now, do I, Remus? After all, I am a dog, you know."
A warm laugh. "I know."
