"Mmm, too young, too dumb to realize

That I should have bought you flowers

And held your hand

Should have gave you all my hours

When I had the chance

Take you to every party

Cause all you wanted to do was dance

Now my baby's dancing

But she's dancing with another man

My pride, my ego, my needs, and my selfish ways

Caused a good strong woman like you to walk out my life

Now I never, never get to clean up the mess I made, ohh…

And it haunts me every time I close my eyes."

Beck looked over at Jade and Robbie's lockers, seeing a smile(well as much as she would in public) on her face as her and Robbie talked. He no longer had that dumb puppet, Jade refused to be around him if he carried it. Their hands were intertwined as they walked out of the hallway and to his car. There was some big party tonight at Ryder's house and Jade was making Robbie take her. Beck sighed and slammed his locker closed as he exited the car to his truck to get ready for the party.

Line break here.

Beck watched from across the party as Jade and Robbie danced closely together. He caught bits and pieces of conversation between them as girls continuously asked him to dance, which he politely declined to. "I love you, Robbie." Beck heard Jade whisper and Robbie smiled widely, mumbling the same back to her. Beck rubbed the back of his neck, why didn't he open that door? He'd be the one dancing with her then and telling her he loved her.

Line break.

Beck looked again on Monday, seeing the couple at their lockers next to each other. She leaned over and stole a quick peck as she opened her locker to find flowers falling out in front of her. The dying roses clumped on the floor as she stooped down to pick them up and set them back in her locker, kissing him once again. Jade held his hands tightly in hers as they walked to the Asphalt Cafe. They met up with the group as they sat down, Jade sitting in his lap as Robbie's arms wrapped around her small waist.

Line break.

Robbie and Jade went to every party together, Robbie dancing with her as though she was the only thing that mattered. Years later, after they had graduated, Beck found himself at Jade's door. Cat had given him the address, he had heard that Robbie had broken up with her a month before. In his hand, Beck held a bouquet of flowers and he knocked softly. The door opened carefully and he saw Jade, wearing a lacy blue dress that brought out the blueness of her eyes and her pale skin tone.

"Beck?" She asked, a perfectly shaped eyebrow raised.

"I heard you and-" He was cut off by the crying of a baby.

"One second," She replied, leaving the door to go get a small two-month old boy. "Beck, this is Charlie." She finished.

"Ch-charlie? Y-your son?" Beck managed to choke out, eyes looking between the hazel-gold eyes of the child and the blue ones of his mother as she nodded. Why did those baby's eyes look so familiar?

"Baby? Who is at the door?" Was that-no.. Robbie? But soon a pair of arms wrap around the pale girl and a head of bushy hair and glasses appears on her shoulder.

"Cat told me about the baby, so I brought these." Beck explained after being asked why he was there, he lifted the bouquet of flowers before saying goodbye.

"Although it hurts

I'll be the first to say that I was wrong

Oh, I know I'm probably much too late

To try and apologize for my mistakes

But I just want you to know

I hope he buys you flowers

I hope he holds your hand

Give you all his hours

When he has the chance

Take you to every party

Cause I remember how much you loved to dance

Do all the things I should have done

When I was your man."
