This story is based on an experiance on Mass Effect 3's Multiplayer. Zoe is the only character that's mine, the others based on players I've played with. Procto = Proctologue (or something), H = hgjkl(or something) and Kira = Imperial4kira.

Our Last Stand

"Hang tight!" yelled Zoe, the human engineer as she began applying medi-gel to the downed krogan. Bullets whizzed past her helmet as she pulled Procto to his feet. The krogan then charged at her and she jumped to the side, and looked back to see Procto splattering a husk all over the metal wall.

"We're even!" he growled over the gunfire.

"Zoe! Where the hell are you and Procto!? Me and H are pinned down out here!" yelled Kira over her omni-tool. The krogan and asari in the squad had nicknames: the asari had muttered something when asked her name, and eventually said: "Just call me H." They never really questioned it. Kira and Procto were the real soldiers, Kira with his tactics and Procto with his brute force.

"We're on our way!" cried Zoe as she began to sprint to their building. A cluster of cannibals were decimated by Procto's rampaging charge and Zoe finished off a straggler with her Predator pistol.

"We got what we came here for, shuttle's on the way!" announced the commander, just as they reached Kira and H.

"Let's go!" yelled H as the squad dashed for the LZ, vaulting over metal shields and masonary as more cannibals and mauraders poured from the doorways, bolts flying past them.

H got clipped in the shoulder just as she cleared a fallen pillar.

Zoe rushed to her, noticing Procto and Kira dashing for the shuttle.

"Just give me a sec!" she told H as she started injecting H with adrenaline and applying medi-gel. She pulled the crippled asari to her feet and helped her through the last stretch before the shuttle.

"30 seconds, let's go, let's go!" radioed the pilot as a ravager's missles blew Zoe and H apart.

Zoe flew. Time seemed to slow as she saw Procto leap out of the shuttle, roaring just before she hit the ground. She felt blood roll down her cheek, and through the tinted visor of her helmet she saw a brute crush Procto into a wall – Kira struggling against marines trying to hold him back.

"It's no good Kira!" one shouted in his ear. "They're flatlining." he added as the shuttle lifted off, leaving the broken krogan, the dying engineer and the curled-up asari behind.

After all this, it didn't feel like a mission complete to Kira.
