Guardian of the Crystal
Author Note: A completely AU fic, however, it does refer to crystals, and Etro. The first chapter is the prologe.
Summary: .:AU:. She is the guardian of the crystal; he is the man who has been ordered by the king to protect her. But when the kingdom is on the verge of war with the kingdom who has several crystals now. Protecting her may be his hardest task ever.
In every kingdom has been blessed with one of the thirteen crystals of Etro.
Thirteen crystals that hold a large source of power for the thirteen kingdoms, but naturally not all of the kingdoms were happy with just one of the crystals.
So they pledge war against each other, in the hopes of securing another crystal for their kingdom, and to widen their kingdom by taking over the other kingdom's land.
But the old king of Tenebrae is wise, for he can sense the war that was about to pledge against his own kingdom. .
For he has studied King Dariam actions for the past twenties years, watching him pledge war against each and every kingdom that stands in his path.
Starting with the smaller and weaker ones, before gradually moving up towards the larger kingdoms like Nils and the kingdom of Tenebrae for his own.
It was during the time King Dariam attack Solstus in his first act of war, his daughter was born, during the time he found out his wife Lumina was pregnant he decided to use his crystal, to make a pendent and create a duplicate using the magic that the crystal has given him.
It was the perfect replica, the only difference between the two was the replica of the crystal didn't even hold a fraction of power compared to its original.
But this matter was kept a secret from his wife, and the rest of the council, the only other person who knew what was going on was the silversmith, who created the chain, for the crystallized pendent but even then he is wise enough to keep the matter a secret.
For it would have been treason to speak about it to anyone, his family and his three year old son would have been put in jail.
His daughter was fourteen just on the verge of turning fifteen when the king decided more like ordered one of his top knights/generals to protect his daughter.
Despite his young age, for he was only eighteen at the time, but has shown the fact that he can use magic, and summon different weapons.
He is one of the best warriors he has; despite the fact he may be a foreigner. He has proven himself loyal in many cases.
He has tested the dark haired man for the past couple of years, watching his actions, including purposefully tipping off where the replica crystal may be. However, he made no attempt of going to the vault much less showing any interest in the crystal.
Besides it would probably get his daughter to agree to the matter more if she has someone closer to her own age. Despite her young age she is quite stubborn, and a bit of a tomboy. Although, the king silently supposes it was better if she was tomboy, especially in the years to come.
Even though, he doesn't wish his daughter to kill somebody, and the fact his chosen knight for her to be able to protect her from such a fate, but he rather his daughter be alive. Of course he isn't naïve to fact, being alive may be worse fate if she was captured by the enemy.
He can only pray that her knight would be able to protect her, and the crystal
