One day, Ferdinand, Zelda (with blonde hair) and Sonic the hedgehog were spending the day at the beach. They went swimming.
Ferdinand enjoyed water, but he wasn't the fastest swimmer. However, he didn't let that bother him- he just made his way slowly out from the beach to where the water was medium depth, and paddled alongside the shore after that. Whereas Sonic was totally different of course!
Sonic and Zelda had taught each other some of their special skills/powers. Sonic taught Zelda how to run at supersonic speeds ever since he discovered that she didn't have to wait for him to save her; she could save herself. Now Zelda was a strong young woman with beautiful blonde hair. Zelda taught Sonic how to swim and now they were a team of strong, fast swimmers. Sonic noticed another girl in the water with a fish tail. "Look, Sonic, a mermaid," cried Zelda.
A beautiful head of red hair rose out of the water, and there she was- Ariel the mermaid! The friends all gasped in surprise and delight. "Hi Ariel!" They all cried together. "It's so great to see you! How have you been? What's happening?"
"I'm great! Said Ariel,"I knew when I sensed three beings in the water, and that one of them was super fast that maybe it was you three."
"That's me," grinned Sonic. "And this is Zelda, princess of Hyrule." Zelda waved, then pointed to Ferdinand bobbing in the water in a relaxed manner. "Have you met Ferdinand yet?" Zelda asked.
"Why no," said Ariel,"Pleased to meet you!" Ariel was not afraid of Ferdinand because she was not afraid of any land-dwelling creature; she knew she was faster in the water than any of them. Of course, she also couldn't see how big Ferdinand was!
Zelda realized that somehow, she had to help Ariel see that Ferdinand was perfectly harmless. "Ariel, there's something I need to tell you…" she said. "What's that?" Ariel asked. "Ferdinand is a giant bull," whispered Zelda. Ariel gasped quietly. "What is a bull doing in the water?" She asked nervously. "Is he trying to charge at us?" "No," said Zelda, quietly rolling her eyes to herself. "Ferdinand is really friendly. Come and see." She took Ariel by the hand and led her towards Ferdinand. "Ahhh! Please don't charge at me!" Ariel cried. "I know bulls get mad when they see red and you'll be angry when you see my hair!" With that, she tried to cover up her red hair with a piece of seaweed.
But she was really kidding, because she wasn't afraid- she was just playing along with Zelda and making Zelda feel better. Ariel was very good at sensing who was a good creature and who was not, and she had already sensed that Ferdinand was gentle and kind and no threat whatsoever. In fact, she was actually worried for Ferdinand because he was not fast in the water, so if something dangerous came along like a shark he would be vulnerable. She didn't tell anyone this, but in her mind she was thinking it, and figuring out how she could help him be safer.
"Hi there," said Ariel. "I'm Ariel. You must be Ferdinand. It's nice to meet you. There's something I have to tell you… you should be careful in the water in case a shark comes and tried to eat you…" she blushed until her face was as red as her hair.
"Oh, that's so nice of you to care about me like that!" Said Ferdinand,"And I would certainly appreciate any tips you have on how I can be safer!"
Ariel thought hard about this, and then she said,"You know what, Ferdinand? I'm going to give you some special equipment that will make you speedier, and then you can practise with it and be almost as fast as your friends over there!" She motioned to Zelda and Sonic, who were zipping around like maniacs on the water.
Ariel dove under the water and put four flippers on Ferdinand's hooves to help him swim faster. Then she gave him a scuba mask with a snorkel so he could see and breath underwater. She also gave him a magic necklace made out of seashells in case he got sucked deep underwater so he could breathe underwater in case his snorkel wasn't working. "Ta-da," exclaimed Ariel. "What do you think?"
"Whoa," he said," This is really awesome! But I need some lessons on how to swim with all this on. Would you mind spending a little time helping me get co-ordinated?"
And Ariel did, spending a few Hours with her new friend the bull, and at the end of it he was much better and was zipping around almost like his buddies.
By the time the lesson was over, the sun was setting and it was time for the three friends to head home. "Ariel, we have to go now," said Zelda sadly. "I know," said Ariel. "Come back anytime. I'll miss you." She waved and dove underwater. And Ferdinand, Zelda and Sonic headed off, parting ways until next time. The End.
