DISCLAIMER: You really think that if I owned CSI, then I would have let 13x15 be shown to the public?
SPOILERS: Anything prior to Season 13 and if you happen to listen to 'Wild Honey' by Van Morrison, you might find that I borrowed some lyrics from him. Thanks Van :)
WARNING: This writer of this fic was not a happy camper after watching the aforementioned episode. So this is the antithesis of that abomination.
THANKS: To TPTB for totally screwing with my head.
Sara rustled around the unmade bed one morning as she slowly woke up to the sound of jazz music playing on the surround sound system. She was seeking something in her dream she knew, but wakefulness kept annoying at her like an irritating mosquito. Sara wanted to stay asleep just a little longer, but the words to a song intermingled with her dream.
Open you eyes, in the early morning;
When the light comes shining through.
Absentmindedly, her hand reached out to where her husband usually lay beside her, but she found only a cold bed sheet and pillow. She opened one eye to discover she was alone, in her own bed, naked as the day she was born, and no husband in sight.
Can't you hear my heart beat just for you?
It's beating so wild, honey.
Sara opened both eyes, confusion washed over her. Her heart-rate skyrocketed.
Where was Grissom?
She remembered the last time the two were together, intimately. The soft caresses of Grissom's fingertips against her skin elicited the desired effect on her as his lips captured hers. She could easily recall the velvet hardness of his erection in her hand as she stroked it. And she called to mind the exact moment when he sank fully into her wetness. It had been wonderful.
I'll be waiting for you;
I'll be waiting here for me.
She had waited for him and for herself for a long time, for them to be together, much longer than most people ever would have considered healthy. Sara Sidle knew with certainty the first time she had laid eyes on Gilbert Grissom that he was the only man for her. It just took him a little longer to figure out what she'd known all along.
She heard the sliding glass door open in the next room and for a moment she panicked, thinking someone was breaking into her home, but before she could even cover herself with the comforter, Hank jumped onto the bed and gave her a slobbery kiss.
"Honey, I could get jealous." She looked up at the sound of Grissom's voice. He was standing sidled up to the door-frame, with his arms crossed against his chest and a smirk on his face, wearing nothing.
"Down boy," Sara commanded, as Hank jumped off the bed and brushed passed Grissom as the dog left the room. "I just woke up and you weren't here. It was an awful feeling."
Tell me what's real, what I feel inside,
Any time day or night will do.
It's alright.
Can't you feel my heart beat just for you?
"That wasn't my intention this morning. I was planning to wake you by kissing you senseless, but Hank had to pee," Grissom shrugged and moved toward the bed.
"It's not to late for you to do as you planned," Sara opened her arms to him as Grissom slid into the bed. "And I'm always ready for a repeat of last night."
Grissom smiled and began kissing his wife. And his heart was beating so wild.
