Author's Note: Okay here goes this is my very first fanfic posted on the
Internet so please be kind but definitely send comments. Also this is before
the MMM (Mandy Memo Mess). As you will tell Josh and CJ are my favorite
characters and I am very much in favor of CJ/Danny.

"A Moment Between Friends in the White House"
"CJ, what's going on with that thing?" says Josh Lyman, opening the door to
CJ's office without knocking. Danny Concannon, who was sitting on the couch
(closely) next to CJ Cregg, jumps up quickly and says, "I'll see you later,
CJ, bye Josh."
Josh waits until Danny leaves and closes the door before saying, "I'm really
sorry about that CJ. I just needed..."
"Don't worry about it Josh, here's the memo about the thing," says CJ and
goes back to sit behind her desk." Was there something else you needed?"
"So how is it going with Danny?" says the very nosy Josh.
"How's what going?"
"You and Danny? Aren't you two going out?"
Exasperatedly CJ says, "Going out? What are we in high school?"
"Well its just that you two are spending a lot of time with each other," Josh
said.
"So?'" CJ said defensively.
"Nothing. God, I'm just being a friend asking another friend about their
life," says Josh just as defensively. Josh moves to open the door when CJ
says, "Josh, wait, I'm sorry that I snapped at you like that it's just that
Toby was bugging me about my, I guess, relationship with Danny earlier so I'm
just..."
"Defensive?" says Josh.
"Afraid."
After a couple of seconds Josh says," Why would you be afraid? Reporters have
dated Press Secretaries before.
"Yes but this is the White House. I've just gotten my reputation back after
the Indian-Pakistan conflict and both of us have our jobs to worry about,"
said CJ after a beat.
"CJ, you know that whatever happens I will back you 100%. And at least you're
not dating a prostitute, right," Josh says trying to lighten up the
conversation.
CJ sends him the death glare, "Thanks for your support, Josh, I appreciate
it."
"Hey what are friends for? And you never answered my question," Josh says.
"What question?"
"You and Danny? Are you dating?"
"Yeah," says CJ sheepishly.
"Cool," Josh replies as CJ says, "We have work to do, Josh, and that thing
tomorrow."
"Bye CJ"
"Go Away Josh"
