Edmund sighed his parents were having a fight. Probably the same one about him agina... How he got tired of hearing it. He had heard since he was 5... You see Edmund was the only child born of the Pevensies that had been born premature and wasn't expected to live. But he did. but he was blind and had seizures. His parents wouldn't let him do things like his siblings got to do not even when Lucy being the youngest sibling, younger than himself.

He was sitting there thinking when he felt a head on his arm. It was his dad. He could tell having felt that hand many times. He brought his hand up to his PA's cheek.

"Pa?..."

"Hush Ed.. your okay but I need you to be strong."

"Pa. Why.."

"I have to go Ed."

"Where."

"To the war son. Was called to go. But I'll make it home safe." Mr Pevensie said he meant try, he would try his best to make it home to his wife and four children. But Ed needed more than try. He needed home that his father would come home.

"Pa why...". Edmund had tears running down his sightless eyes and the sigh gave his father pause to stay but he knew his duty, but his duty was also his family, and he knew Edmund was having a hard time with boarding school because of his blindness and epilepsy. Edmund had came home barely walking, and bruised.

"Ed I need you to help your mum and Peter. Do you think you can."

Edmund nodded, even though his head ached. "Good man." Mr Pevensie smiled in the ear of his younger son pushing his lips to his sons forehead. He stood up to go talk to Lucy until then Susan and Peter. That night he spent one last night and day with his family and headed to war.

Edmund tried his best to keep his promise to his father. But after two weeks that failed apart... Boarding school gotten to much for Edmund who was already behind. He had gotten beat up, had seizures during class which got him detention... He felt hopeless. He took longer learning than everyone else... It just wouldn't stay in his head... When he came home Peter would quiz him and speak loudly to Edmund trying to help him understand his lessons but it just made Edmund feel worse. He had enough an snapped. Peter fung him across the room in anger... And that was when the Peter part of his promise snapped. His brother had hurt him...

Helen saw Peter throw Edmund across the room. Edmund hit the walls hard and didn't rise... He started seizing... Helen rushed into action makibm sure Edmund was safe and wouldn't hurt himself farther by putting pillows behind him and under his head. She turned to her oldest. Peter had an gulity expression on his face. "Peter."

"Mum, I didn't.."

"I know. You didn't but he doesn't. When he wakes up. You have to tell him." She paused. Susan was beside Edmund as he seized. A minute went pass before the seizure stopped. Susan poistiopoi Edmund to where he could breathe easier.

"Peter, I know you didn't mean to. It just been hard for Edmund. He hasn't had any food in three days. And he comes home bruised or I pick him up. I know you think it hard but we all do. Edmund can't see and his brain doesn't remember things like ours. Be patient."

"Yes, Mum. I'm sorry..." Peter meant every word...
