I do not own Vampire Knight, unfortunately. Matsuri Hino does.

Zero slammed the door of his new home, sighing in annoyance as he heard the hinges squeak in protest and almost fall off. The apartment was falling apart as it was, and it did not need any help from an angry vampire.

Living in the Sun Dorm- the new, reconstructed Sun Dorm- was an impossiblity for him now. But he would have thought the Headmaster could find a better accomadation for him. Growling, he pulled off his coat and flung it in the general direction of the wardrobe, not really caring or checking to see where it had landed. Unfortunately, it was on top of the heater.

Zero muttered various curses as he tried to put out the subsequent fire. With a lack of water nearby, he simply stomped on in. He managed to put out the fire, but now his apartment also lacked a heater. And he needed a new coat.

'Great,' Zero said angrily to himself, 'And I thought this day couldn't get any better.'

He had received an early summons- a very early summons- to the school, where that fluffy annoying jerk the Headmaster had told him that he had been given a target. And that 'Your homework was late, Zero-kun, so you better watch out before you fail again!' He now needed to buy the Headmaster a new desk after the last one had made a rather unfortunate exit through the window.

He had dealed with the target- a Level-E vampire- rather quickly, but a lucky last shot from the wretched scum had slashed Zero's arm. Nowhere near fatal, of course, but annoying to heal. And the last hunt had put him out of bullets, so another thing to aquire.

Zero peeled off his shirt and lay on the bed. After a day like this, the last thing he needed was sleep. Because if he slept, he would see her. Her smiling face, reprimanding him for missing his duties, or her new form, saying goodbye. Angry, he stood up and blinded by rage, punched through a wall. 'I miss you.'
