Aura Beyond Preview – Once Burned

Disclaimer: I do not own Batman Beyond or Matoi or any of the characters mentioned in this story, this is from an idea I pitched to AshxRyuko27 a while back so if you are reading this I hope you find it to your liking

Melanie: how could you do this to me?

King: Melanie, listen, your mother and I love you very much

Queen: But we needed to make sure you loved us

Melanie: No, you don't love me. If you really did, you wouldn't have done this to me and you never would have made me choose between the family and Matoi. You would have accepted him.

King: you were too young

Melanie: you think I'm blind? Age had nothing to do with it. You were afraid I'd leave the gang, that's what it really was, Matoi was right, I was only ever been an accomplice to you, never a daughter, I just wish it hadn't taken me this long to realize it. And that makes this choice so much easier, NOW!

this was made to give inspiration to AshxRyuko27 so a Batman Beyond and Pokemon Crossover story with his characters was still on the table, as you can see the twist of the episode Once Burned goes a bit differently, I should elaborate, for one, Melanie is in Love with AshxRyuko27's OC, Matoi Ketchum instead of Terry, and always has to begin with, so no Terry cheating on Dana this time, second, for those of you who seen this episode knows Melanie was unwittingly performing a secret test of loyalty for her family; the Royal Flush Gang by robbing a gangster poker game to pay for a fake ransom made by the Jokerz gang (Melanie thought her family were kidnapped by the Jokerz but in reality, there never was one and was faked by the RFG), but here, instead of Ten abandoning Batman to the Jokerz and choosing to steal the ransom instead of following Batman's plan to 'rescue' her family from the Jokerz hideout (she didn't know batman was Terry), before they attack the hideout, Matoi and the rest of the Beyond team get a hunch that it things didn't seem right and they and Melanie slowly realize the kidnapping and ransom didn't make sense and then figure out robbing the poker game is more in line with the RFG's modus operandi and that they set the whole thing up. Melanie is disheartened and has a hard time believing it, so Matoi decides to prove it with a gambit, he gives Melanie a bag of normal rocks with an illusion of the jewels, casino chips and gold on it and asks her to take it to where the ransom is to be delivered while Matoi, Batman and the Rest of the Beyond Team tail her, and if it turns out he's right, Melanie will renounce being a criminal and join the Ketchum family.
