Spotty: Yay! My first ever Deltora Quest fic! O.K., so if you know me you know that I can't start this new fandom with anything other than humor. So, without further ado, I present The School of Del! Oh wait, the disclaimer. Anna, just do it.
Anna: Um, hello... Spotty, what am I supposed to do?
Spotty: Quit stalling!
Anna: Oh, fine. Spotty doesn't own Deltora Quest, whatever. Now get away from me, you creep!
Spotty: Oh well...
It was test day in the School of Del. Since it was Jared's first test day, Crian was making Anna show Jared the ropes. The first thing that happened was that Mr. , or Mr. I for short, gave Jared a pencil. Apparently pencils were very rare because they were a gift from the Glus's sister, Slug, who was nice, or the opposite of her brother. Slug was stuck in Tora on official monster convention business, so she couldn't get the schools new pencils for another couple of months.
When the students sat down to take the test, Jared seemed very confident. "I'm going to ace it!" he bragged to Anna, who just rolled her eyes. When the test arrived in front of Jared, he was astounded. "What is this novel!" he screamed. The tests in the palace were a page long, and this was a whole page and a word! And so what if the word was I, it was still a whole word!
Though he was shaken up, Jared figured that it couldn't be that hard, especially nice he knew all about Del from what Prandine had told him. Question one was: What is your name? Of course, Jared raised his hand. "Mr. I," he asked. "Are names the same here as in palace? Because in the palace... I mean in my picture book about the palace...Um, ignore that."
Since Anna secretly liked Jared and didn't enjoy the mockery being brought on him by the whole class, he decided to help. Her big plan was to make a fool of herself, too. "Mr. I," she said. "I like reading picture books too! Picture books are COOL! Yay!"
"Thanks," whispered Jared.
"Shut up and take your tests!" screamed Mr. I.
