Jinta had to wonder if the world turned itself upside down when he went out to pick up some supplies for the store. For when he returned it was to the sight of a sobbing Tessai who ran over to him to embrace him while sobbing about 'still having a lot of life to live' and 'even a man can shed tears without shame in the face of heartache'. It was creeping him out to no end and unfortunately the near death grip Tessai had him in prevented him escaping the uncomfortable scene. So he had to hope his yells could attract someone's attention who could get the muscled man off of him.

Luckily he didn't have to do too much yelling before help came in the form of the dark skinned woman, and sometimes black cat, Yoruichi. "Come now Tessai, calm down," she says soothingly as she walks over to them, "I think you're scaring the kid."

"B-but Yoruichi, he must be in such pain to have just lost his one true love," Tessai sobs but thankfully loosens his grip so Jinta can pull away.

"I lost my what?!" Jinta exclaims angrily, wondering what the hell had gotten into the big man.

"Oh, you brave soul," Tessai says with tears streaming down his face, "Pretending not to know so you can face this pain alone. But don't worry my boy, we know about your forbidden love affair with Yuzu Kurosaki from Urahara. And alas he also told us about the terrible argument you two had the other day that has lead to the breaking off of your engagement."

"Our WHAT?!" Jinta practically screams in complete shock and horror. He's able to collect his wits quicker than the older man and quickly tells him, "None of that garbage is true, Tessai. Me and Yuzu aren't having any kind of love affair and we sure as hell aren't engaged. We just happen to run into each other a lot."

"Ah, so that picture of her that you kiss every night is just a figment of our imaginations, is it?" Yoruichi asks with a fiendish grin.

Jinta blushes so hard the woman has to wonder if he will actually be able to remain conscious with that much blood rushing to his head. Much to his credit he remains coherent enough to bashfully say, "That's not what you think it is."

"Oh, Jinta," Tessai pipes in, crushing the boy again in a bear hug, "So bravely carrying the torch of unrequited love. Don't worry, uncle Tessai knows the feeling all too well and will help you from further suffering."

"You're the only one making me suffer!" the redhead yells trying to free himself yet again from the man's grip.

Yoruichi just laughs at the scene, much to Jinta's chagrin, but then she smiles and puts a hand on the burly man's shoulder. "Come on now, Tessai," she says, "Let's leave the poor boy alone, there's still work that needs to be done."

"But what about his heartache and pain?" Tessai asks, reluctant to leave his charge in what he perceived to be the young man's greatest crisis.

"Jinta's a big boy, he can take care of something like a little crush on his own," she says consolingly. "And remember you're here if anything goes wrong right?"

"I, I guess you're right," he concedes, finally letting go of a relieved Jinta.

As the two adults leave Jinta comes to the conclusion that a caring Tessai is much scarier than an angry Tessai.
