Title: Silver Skies
Series: Pokèmon
Parings/Characters: OC, Falkner, mentions of Totodile.
Disclaimer: Pokèmon belongs to Nintendo and Satoshi Tajiri. I'm just a fan who's having some fun, spurred forth by her copy of Soul Silver.
Rating/Warnings: PG or K+. Nothing bad, few minor insults.
Dedication/Notes: For those who are enjoying their new Soul Silver and Heart Gold games.
Summary: The latest challenger to Violet City's Gym is quite amused by Falkner's antics.

Torrence covered her mouth with her hand, in attempt to disguise the laughter that threatened to escape. The situation was not funny. Not at all. There was no reason for her to be laughing.
Still, the amusement hung about.
Shaking her head, the young trainer sat down next to Violet City's Elegant Flying Master, ignoring his brooding glare.
"Look..."
"You won, all right? Why are you still here?",he asked, anger lacing tone. "You have your badge and I even threw in a free guide on my secret technique. Now go!"
Torrence rolled her eyes, smile disappearing, and tucked a stray strand of her blue locks behind her ear. Why did boys have to be so incredibly difficult?
"Now, look.",she started, her voice taking on a harder tone. Her silver eyes glinted in the light, beginning to show her annoyance. "You go on and on, preaching about your wonderful Pokèmon, and -" She held a hand up to stop Falkner from interrupting. "- I agree with you, they are magnificent - but did you ever stop to think that not everyone relies on electric attacks to defeat the creatures of the sky? That not everyone who challenges you is insulting your views?"
The Gym Leader gaped openly at her, trying to come up with some sort of retort.
"Idiot.",Torrence nodded, standing up, not caring if he was insulted. She was insulted, still amused, but insulted. He had treated her like a novice. He wasn't that much older than her, but apparently that fact had escaped him.
"Just because my partner can't soar up in the skies, doesn't mean that water can't bring your wings down.",she stated softly, patting the Pokèball at her side where her beloved Totodile rested. Falkner had stopped trying to speak and was now merely glaring at her. Oh well, she had said her piece. He could remain ignorant, for all she cared.
With a slight incline of her head, she turned around and headed back towards the elevator that would take her down from the battle area and back onto solid ground. "See you later.",she waved. She had an appointment with a certain Pokè Center a few blocks away.
Stepping out into the cool evening breeze, Torrence couldn't help but stretch her arms. A good night's rest was in order and then trainer and Pokèmon were off to the next Gym. Whether or not anything more than a badge was gained in Violet City tonight, she still couldn't wait to spread her wings and continue onwards, to wherever the journey lead.

Falkner's always been a favourite character of mine. Maybe I'll write more one shots with him at a later time.
Thank you for reading and feel free to review!
