Last Time
She hurt. And the stabbing pain in her abdomen increased as the paramedics picked her off the Atlantean floor. She found she was too tired to cry out from the grogginess that surrounded and she started to drift off. But, a lilting voice pulled her out of her drowsy slumber.
"Teyla." And she raised her hand to meet his.
"Carson." She breathed. The strong grip of his hand encircled hers.
"I'm here." She struggled to keep her eyes open. She always liked the sound of his voice. It always managed to calm her. His voice continued on. The Scottish lilt caressing the words that was so different from the majority of the base.
"You've been in an explosion, Teyla, and a piece of debris has impacted your side." She remembered the paramedics patching her up and the pain before they gave her the sedative that she tried so hard to fight against. And not really knowing why.
"We're headed to the Infirmary to take it out and patch you up. Easy-peasy – I can do this one in my sleep." She knew that he was a capable doctor and that he would take care of her. She would be in good hands. She had nothing to worry about.
With of reassuring squeeze of his hand, she quit trying to fight the drugs and subcommand to the overpowering sleep.
As her eyes closed, she looked up into his blue eyes and a gentle smile on his face.
And her eyes shut and she felt her body being pulled into unconsciousness.
And she felt his hand slip away.
