"AAAAHHHHHH!" I screamed. My golden lab puppy, Richy, looked at me.
"What? What is it?" my older brother, James, ran up to me.
"Mom, dad, come here!" I shouted. I grabbed James's hand and pulled him into the kitchen.
"What?" mom asked.
"What happened?" dad asked, coming up behind mom.
"Look!" I shook the papers I held in their face.
Mom took the papers and started reading them.
"Oh my gosh, honey, this is amazing!" she enthused.
"What?" James asked, reaching for the papers.
Mom swatted his hand away and gave the papers to my dad.
"I was accepted to Worthington Academy!" I yelled.
"That's great, Kristi." James wrapped me up in a hug.
"This is just on time for you birthday next week," dad said.
"Yea I can't wait to take the tour on Monday," I said.
I looked at the papers like they were glowing. The academy was the best on the east coast.
"I can't wait," I half shouted. "I have to tell Meghan!" I ran upstairs to my room and Richy followed me. I shut the white wood door and hopped on my computer and Richy lied down next to me. I opened iChat and wrote:
To: MegaLee4: I got accepted into Worthington Academy! :D
She wrote back after a few seconds:
To: KrisKiss7: That is soooooooooooooooooo AMAZING!
To: MegaLee4: I know! I'm going to take the tour on Monday!
To: KrisKiss7: I am so so so so so happy for you! TTYS! I have to go to lunch with my dad.
To: MegaLee5: KK! Have fun!
I looked around my new room. We had just moved here to from NYC and I loved it here. I could tell Pennsylvania would be a good change from the busy city. The school year was almost over so mom was home schooling James and me until the new school year. I'd be a sophomore and James was a senior this year. We were both happy to be here, but mom was going to need some time to adjust. Dad got transferred for his job and James had also sent in an application to be an assistant riding coach at the academy. He was expecting a letter next week.
I sat down on my bed. It was covered with light green sheets, a white bed spread with a light green and aqua blue boarder with light green and aqua spots. My pillows matched the spread and sheets. My walls were light blue. I had a white dresser and night stand. My lamp had an aqua cover. My window at the head of my bed had a white curtain. I had white shelves with pictures and books on them. I picked up Richy and put him down next to me.
I heard a knock on my door.
"Who is it?" I asked.
"A serial killer that's why I'm knocking," James said.
I opened the door, rolling my eyes.
"Yes?" I asked.
"I was wondering if you wanted to go out for dinner tonight to celebrate," James said with a smile.
"Okay that sounds great," I said.
"We're leaving in two hours," James said.
"Okay," I smiled.
James closed the door and I walked over to my desk.
I opened my E-Diary.
I was accepted to Worthington Academy! I can't believe it. I am so excited. I can't wait to know what school horse I'll be riding since I don't have my own. I've ridden school horses all my life since my parents couldn't afford to buy me one. I'm hoping this year will be different and I'll get a horse to call my own. Fingers crossed. 3
I saved the entry and went to my dresser. I changed into skinny jeans, ugg boots, and a navy blue sweater. I grabbed my purse and headed down stairs.
"You ready kiddo?" my dad asked.
"Yup," I smiled.
We walked out to our navy Kia Sorento. We drove to my favorite restaurant.
