Empire of Dirt
Summary: She gives Jade her tongue and lips and fingers because even if she had more to give, it's the only thing that Jade wants
Disclaimer: I don't own this in the same way I don't own the souls of unborn children: because I'm not Dan Shneider.
A/N: A short, angsty little piece to introduce myself to this fandom. Also, technically, to slash/femmeslash, which I've always like but never posted. And also because Cade angst is right up there on the List Of Things I Love.
.
All Cat has to give is herself.
All she has to give is red hair and emotion and all the skin she displays.
She doesn't have good grades so she can't help with your homework or give you advice, and she has money but it isn't hers to lend. She's not gifted at art so she can't draw you a pretty picture, and she could sing you a song but everyone thinks Tori is better. No one laughs at her jokes, only when she's being serious, so she must not be funny either. She could maybe give you her possessions but those don't count, not really.
Jade clutches at her hips, whispers filthy things in her ears, and Cat wants to give her the world. She wants to give her the stars and skies and seas and colors. She wants to make Jade laugh and smile and feel.
"Will you purr for me, Kitty?" Jade asks huskily, lightly pressing down on Cat's shoulder through her tank top.
Cat doesn't answer, but sinks to her knees on the dirty floor of the janitor's closet because she knows it's what Jade wants. She pulls Jade's black skirt up and gives her what she can. She gives Jade her tongue and lips and fingers because even if she had more to give, it's the only thing that Jade wants. Cat kisses skin she wishes she was the only one to see. She presses 'I love you's that Jade will never hear into her thighs because Jade doesn't want those, gets mad when Cat tries to give them to her. So she leaves them there in secret, treasures that Jade will never find.
When Jade finishes Cat pulls away, licks at her lips, and ignores the lust pooling deep in her stomach because Jade doesn't want that, either. She smiles and pats the top of Cat's head like the animal she's nicknamed for before leaving and closing the door behind her. Cat sighs and curls her knees to her chest, tucking in her chin as she tries not to sob. She will not go back to class, where she will have to sit uncomfortably with Jade thick on her tongue. She will go home, she will write Jade a song that Jade will never hear or a note that she'll never read, and she will imagine giving Jade all the things that Cat wishes she wanted. She will imagine a world without boys with great hair who get Jade's smiles and kisses and love, where Cat is enough for Jade. Where Jade wants all of Cat.
Where Cat could give Jade everything.
But in this world, all Cat could give Jade is her heart, raw and bloody, because Jade already has her body.
All Cat could give Jade is herself.
But Jade will never want it.

Fun Fact(s): Of the 472 words of actual fic, 24 of them are either 'want' or 'give' or some variation thereof, which is either sad or really consistent depending on where you're standing.
I do not think Victoria Justice is a better singer than Ariana Grande, that was just for fic's sake.
The title comes from the (depressing) Nine Inch Nails song 'Hurt', specifically the line 'you could have it all, my empire of dirt.'
The other things on my 'List Of Things I Love' include, but are not limited to: Retriever puppies, kittens, cookies, conquering the mortal souls of my enemies, cupcakes, and Ariana Grande.
