Disclaimer: Harry Potter and all of its characters, settings, blah blah blah, etc. belong to J..
Warning: Nothing much for the prologue I guess…
Author's Note:Obviously, this is going to be an AU. While there may be some form of magic in this fic, it's not the kind you would usually associate with the HP series. Also, the rating is starting at T, but may be changed to M later on. That said, this is a HPDM fanfiction, and I should probably warn people that I prefer Draco as the more… submissive (if you want to call it that, but Draco isn't and won't be entirely submissive) role. Also, Harry is a bit of a late bloomer in this fic and transfers into Hogwarts around fourth or fifth year?

STRUCK!

"Monster! Freak!" Petunia Dursley shrieked at the boy currently writhing on her living room floor in agony. Perhaps, if he was normal, she would have been worried. But Harry Potter was not normal. No. The boy emitting a faint golden light from his deceptively human skin was not normal at all. As he screamed and clutched his bleeding forehead, the storm that had appeared just as suddenly as his attack, escalated. If Petunia didn't know better, she'd think that the freak had summoned the storm himself.

"I told you it was a bad idea!" Vernon shouted over Harry's screams. "We never should have adopted the brat! I knew from the start that he was a trouble-maker, but you just had to look good by taking in the poor orphan boy." The large, red-faced man jabbed his meaty finger in the monster's direction. "Now what are we going to do? What are the neighbors going to think?" The Dursley patriarch watched as his wife clutched their perfectly ordinary son, Dudley, closer to her chest. Vernon's flesh and blood boy was scared into shocked speechlessness by Harry's strange appearance and behavior. The continually raging storm outside wasn't helping much either.

"ARRGH— MY HEAD!" Harry screamed from his place on the floor. His hand-me-down clad knees were curled into his chest and his hands and arms were wrapped securely around his bleeding, throbbing head. The splitting pain was so intense that Harry was oblivious to everything else around him. His adoptive family's yells and the loud cracks of thunder from outside never registered in his mind.

"That is ENOUGH! Stop your screaming this instant!" Vernon exploded as a bolt of lightening struck very near his home on Privet Drive. The power died just as the dark haired boy on the floor fell silent. The only light in the room was the eerie, unnatural glow leaking out through Harry's skin. Finally, as the pain slowly faded from his body, the teen uncurled from his ball and opened his impossibly green eyes. The storm left as quickly as it came and the Dursleys stared at their ward in barely restrained fear. Through the blood on the boy's forehead, they could make out the shape of a sharply defined lightening bolt.
