Heh heh. Thought I'd try a little one-shot RLxNT. Here goes. It takes place shortly after Sirius' death.
Disclaimer: Yea, I don't own any of the awesome Harry Potter stuff.
I walked into Number 12, Grimmauld Place. I saw the rug corner was flipped up, and that the umbrella stand was turned over. "Well, Tonks has been here," I said to myself. I walked into the kitchen to get some food before heading up to the library. As I opened the door, there was a loud crash.
"Dammit, Remus! You made me drop the plate!"
"Oh, sorry Tonks. I didn't mean to scare you."
"It's okay. R – Reparo," she said as she fixed the plate. Her eyes were puffy, and there were dried tear tracks down her cheeks.
"T – Tonks? Are you alright?" I asked, taking a step toward her.
"Oh, Remus. I just miss him. He died too young. I thought staying in his house might help ease the pain, but –" she started crying all over again. I took her in my arms.
"Ssh. It's alright, Tonks. I miss Sirius too. How about you go upstairs to bed and I'll bring us up some soup. Go on."
"Alright," she said pulling away. She took one step in the other direction and tripped. I caught her by the arm.
"Woah, easy there. Here, let me walk you upstairs." As we were walking upstairs, she seemed happier and her hair started turning pink from the mousy brown she usually had of late. I sat her down on the bed and walked downstairs again to make the soup. I finished making it and traveled upstairs again. By the time I got to her room, she was fast asleep, a small smile on her face. I ate my soup in silence as I watched her sleep. I put a charm on her soup to keep it warm. I left a note saying that I was in the library if she needed someone to talk to. I took my bowl downstairs and cleaned it and after walked up to the library. I read for a few hours and heard someone come into the library. As she walked in, she tripped, yet again, over a stack of books.
"Wotcher, Remus." I put my book down and welcomed her to the couch I was sitting on. "Thanks for the soup, it was great."
"No problem. How was your sleep?"
"Amazing. For the first time in a while, I didn't have a dream about what happened to him."
"Well, that's good." She smiled at me and I went back to my book. She stared at me for a while, and I could feel myself blushing.
"So, what did you dream about?" I asked casually.
She turned bright red, "Er…you."
"Oh," I said and turned redder than her. There was a long silence while I went back to reading.
"Remus, I really do like you. I don't care that you're a werewolf. Don't even give me the old 'I'm too old, dangerous, and poor' for me act. I know you return the feelings. Why won't you just admit it?" I looked up at her, put my book down and walked out of the library. I walked quickly up to my room, mind racing, locked the door, and slid to the floor next to it. I couldn't get the image of her face after I walked out on her out of my head. She looked devastated. I stood up and paced the room.
"How can I be such an idiot?" I threw a chair and heard the wood splinter as it hit the wall.
"I love her! Why can't I show her my feelings?" I broke a lamp.
"DAMMIT! WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?" I ripped the sheets off of the bed.
"I know I love her. I have to go apologize." I walked out of the door, and tripped. I started to brace myself for the impact, but a small hand grabbed me by the arm. It was Tonks. Thinking, What the hell, I'll go for it; I regained my footing, grabbed her by the shoulders, and kissed her.
"I guess I'm the one falling for you now."
