It was an infrequently relaxing day for the smashers. Matches had been called off due to scheduling problems on Master Hand's part and none of the usual drama that took place had commenced… yet. Not many were complaining, especially the kids, who enjoyed any amount of free time they could get to play around and be lively.

However, some others had a different idea of how to spend their day.

As the day was coming to an end, the glow of sunset enveloped the room that two familiar princesses resided in. A variety of flowers, jewels, and decorations in the shape of hearts were scattered around the room. Furniture was always soft and had a very dim pink tint to them that matched greatly with the ivory walls and floor carpet. A bright and shiny golden chandelier could be spotted above her wonderfully draped queen bed. A room truly fitting for a princess like Peach. On this bed were the aforementioned princesses. Princess Peach and her best friend, Princess Daisy.

Instead of being wildly active with it, they decided to spend their day in a lackadaisical manner. Rarely did the girls get a day where they didn't have to wear their signature dresses at least once, so the two got comfy in their respective pajamas. Peach adorned a rosy gradient nightgown, fittingly painted with peaches, that reached her lower thighs. The flower princess in comparison wore a nightshirt that exposed her lower stomach paired with boyshorts, both being a plain orange color.

Between the girls laid a bowl of strawberries accompanied by a small cup of melted chocolate to dip them into. The girls talked endlessly as they munched on the sugary fruits. They skipped over multiple topics, ranging from typical gossip to Make-up (mostly on Peach's part).

At the moment, the blonde-haired sky-eyed princess was going off by ranting about Mario, Bowser and how they couldn't take a hint on her feelings. Some would probably call it petty, buy Daisy didn't mind too much that her friend was venting to her. In fact, she enjoyed it on most occasions and found it amusing.

At a glance, Peach was the tea-loving gentle sweetheart who was kind to all souls. Daisy knew her friend was more than that, though. Peach had her own set of problems, like everybody else. Big or small.

"...Bowser especially," Peach continued with a scowl, "He believes capturing me will also capture my heart. Is he serious?"

Daisy chuckled at this with a mouth full of strawberries, "I thought you said you didn't mind gettin' kidnapped?"

"I don't... Not really," golden locks flowed through the air as she sat up, "Being in a castle really numbs my mind," Her soft fingers brushed the hair off her face, "If I weren't as bound to my duties I wouldn't need to use it as a source of entertainment, but I'm not that fortune." She mumbled.

Daisy looked up at her friend, "Wow, guess I got lucky, huh? I'm so glad Sarasaland rules aren't strict."

"Yes, but I have more guys coming after me because of it," Peach cheekily replied.

Daisy almost burst with laughter from such a statement.

"What? The only guys who like you aren't even my type. Besides, It's not my fault that the only guys attracted to me are wusses."

"Might be your boisterous attitude, you could try to act less… intense?"

"No way," Daisy scoffed, "I don't like people who are fake, so why act like it?"

"Hmm, I guess you're right..."

Silence swallowed the room before Peach spoke up again, "Do… Do you have anyone you're interested? Truly interested in?"

Daisy stared confused at her friend. She took the moment to think about her answer. Did she really have an interested in anyone? She did a quick list check;

Mushroom Kingdom's hero, Mario, saved her once, and periodically they would team up in golf and tennis, but their relationship ended there.

Ike is a new friend of hers, and he had everything; good body, good voice, good personality… Despite the heat creeping to her face just thinking about him, she wasn't romantically interested in him. Infatuation was most likely the culprit when it came to her feelings for the Radiant Hero.

Luigi and Daisy go way back. It was established that he would be the sensitive guy to her strong girl ever since they first met. Very much at odds personality-wise, so Did she hate him? No. Of course not. She genuinely cares for his well-being, proven during the Lucien incident. He's also a nice guy, and a great brother, despite the cowardly attitude. Did she love him? ...No. Not really. She felt guilty in a way, knowing the guy had a crush on her, but she couldn't see him in the same light.

"No," Daisy claimed, "I don't think. Why?"

Bright clear blue eyes glanced downward as a melancholy smile took form on the royal's face, she tilted her body away from the bed, her emotions being unreadable due to the action.

The Flower Princess didn't understand why the mood of the conversation shifted so suddenly. She sat up and focused her attention on the back of the Mushroom Kingdom's princess.

"My status as the Mushroom Kingdom Princess is an incomparable blessing, and I wouldn't trade it for anything else. However…" A short pause, "My royal duties would restrict me in a number of ways. It prevents me from getting with any person I love, or even stops me from showing how I want to express myself. It's not necessary, yet, I feel my significant other has to be of royal family, like me, to get the least amount of criticism possible. My status as Princess means everything, and the status of my kingdom, even more, I would not want to tarnish that, but I'm a firm believer in doing anything for true love."

It was Daisy's time to sit up. She joined her fellow princess at the edge of the bed, causing Peach's head to tilt and look at her. Ocean blue eyes concentrated on her pink friend's sky blue ones.

"Knowing this," Peach continued, "I've avoided a few people in my life that I grew an attraction to. I hate having an awful mindset like that. I truly do. I question myself if I should love at all at times and… I… Sorry, I don't mean to sound... What's that word you use? Extra?"

Daisy couldn't help but laugh out loud at that sentence. She forgot Peach could be so retro at times. Not that she minded. She liked that about her.

Embarrassed and a tad annoyed that she was getting chackled at, the face of the girlier princess soon started to flush. Daisy laughed a bit more at this but was quick to reassure her friend. In sheer instinct, the Sarasaland princess reached for the other girl's hand and held it soothingly. Soft skin upon soft skin.

"Peachy, girl, stop thinking like that. If you truly love someone, you shouldn't be afraid of that, no matter the consequences. It may be your most defining trait, but you're way more than just a royal title. Your kindness to your people extends to everyone here, I'm almost willing to say you're the nicest person I know."

"Really?" Peach simply asked, dumbfounded.

"Of course!" Daisy nodded affirmatively, "Girl, there's so many good qualities you have that you don't show off, It almost makes me jealous! You're caring, proper, and your attitude to prove yourself is admirable, there's also your--"

Peach slide her hand from underneath her energetic friend's hand, this caused said friend to lift an eyebrow in confusion, worried she said something wrong. Peach was facing away, so it was hard to pinpoint how she really felt at that moment, but...

"Daisy that's… I… Thank You."

Her voice echoed with pure gratitude. Her heart warmth with ease, tranquility and something else she couldn't describe at the moment. Realization dawned on her. Rarely did she get compliments to this degree. Yes, her citizens admired her and Mario made her especially feel nice with his 'Knight-In-Shining-Armor' act, but this was different. Foreign. It was a feeling she wanted more of.

"Don't mention! I'll always have your back."

Silence overshadowed the room once again. Previously it was stiff and awkward, out of nowhere. Currently, they would agree it was a nice, mutual silence that they didn't mind having around.

Daisy started up a conversation, with her fingers gripped around another chocolate-dipped strawberry, "If it counts, no one trash talks as well as you do," Daisy added comically, trying not to burst out in laughter.

Peach knew this wasn't a jab in the truest sense and was meant for light-hearted fun.

"Heh, what?" She chuckled," I don't trash talk people." She pouts, crossing her arms.

They both knew that was a lie.

"I'm assuming you forgot your really long rant yesterday about Sonic?"

"Well, first off, none of what happened was his business. Second, I take good care of my nail art, the rodent wouldn't understand, and finally, it's not my fault he looks like a mix between a Pokémon and a--"

Daisy, cackling loudly, wrapped her arm around her slightly (or a little more than slightly) angered companion and continued to chortle before making her next statement.

"It's alright, I like this side of you, girl. Keep it."

Natural laughter filled the pink room as the girls went back to relaxing on the bed, eating their chocolate submerged strawberries while continuing the good-hearted gossip they were so used to.

As they munched on, Daisy realized no matter what people thought of her friend, Peach would always be unique. Very special to her.

A one of a kind person.
