This I wrote this fic for the contest in the Barsburg Church forum contest... I didn't won... but I enjoyed doing it and I am happy that I participated.

So here is an enjoy :)

Title: Memories
Characters: Teito and Mikage.

It was a rainy day, sky colored with gray as the cold rain fall like a mist sent from the sky.

Teito was in front of a grave, the grave of his best friend, Mikage.

'I could not do anything…' Teito thought feeling sorrow and anger.

Sorrow for the loss of his friend and anger toward the one who killed him, Ayanami.

But he not only blame Ayanami because of Mikage's death, Teito blame himself… not been able to protect his friend.

'You were my light…. My only light'

Tears that were falling from his eyes were mixing with the rain.

'And I have lost you…'

Teito fall on his knees, head to the ground and hands on his face. Sorrow consuming all his soul, his emotions, everything of him.

Then someone put his hand on his shoulder and there was a voice saying…

"Don't cry anymore…"

Teito could recognize that voice… the voice of his light… Mikage?

Teito fast, look up at that person, he could believe his eyes…. There he was, Mikage.

Mikage smiled, that sweet and warm smile, that he always showed to Teito.

Teito felt happy, and the tears were not of sadness, they were of happiness, he didn't care how Mikage appeared there, he just cared that he was there with him.
Teito smiled back and hugged his best friend. He could feel the warm body against his, Mikage felt real, his heart was believing and wanting this to be real.

"I miss you Mikage…." Teito whisper.

They broke the hug and Teito could notice, that the smile of Mikage turned into an empty smile.

"Mikage…" Teito called his name.

"Teito… please don't cry for me anymore" Mikage said. "Even if I am not with you physically… I am always within your heart"

Teito felt the sadness falling on him again, he didn't want to know that this was a kind of dream, or a illusion.

"I am sorry that I broke our promise… I could help you and I wished that I could have done something to help you." Teito said trying to fight back more tears.

"Is okay… I wanted to protect you, that is why I did what I have to do… for you Teito."

"My life is not that valuable…" Teito said with tears

"It is for me because you are my best friend… I would have done anything so that you could be safe… and I want to keep protecting you for the rest of your life" Mikage said with a smile.

"Why?" Teito asked without thinking.

"Because I love you" Mikage answer.

Teito felt blush on his cheeks, and then he was smiling too.

"I love you too, Mikage" Teito said. "You have been really special for me… thanks for been my friend"

Mikage smiled and said "We'll always be friend" he extended his arms with his hand closed toward Teito.

Teito nodded and he did the same, so that the two fist were together. But later Mikage hugged Teito.

"Remember that I am always with you…and that smiling and laughing makes you grow taller" he said with a chuckle. Teito smiled and laugh.

"Thanks Mikage… for everything…"Teito said, and a sudden feeling of sleep fell on him and without noticing he fall sleep.
　
Teito woke up and he was inside the room, of the church. He looked beside him and Burupya was cuddle in a cute way near Teito. Teito smiled and pat his little head.

'I will become stronger for your sake Mikage… and I will do my best to bring you back…' Teito thought and fall sleep again, but now feeling a great peace in his heart.

'We'll always be best friends'
