Nineteen year old Ayano Sugiura finished up a work project. Her cellphone rang. She turned and was excited to see that her girlfriend, Toshino Kyoko, was the one calling her. She grabbed the phone and said, "Hi Kyoko."

Kyoko replied, "Hi Ayano. I hope that I didn't interrupt you during work again."

Ayano said, "No need to worry about that. Your timing was near perfect, because I just finished my work two minutes ago."

Kyoko had a hard time paying attention when Ayano talked about her job, but she wanted to be nice. She asked, "What were you working on?"

Ayano explained, "I was working on the research paper that Mr. Priceless asked me to write. I learned a lot of historical info that I didn't know." She spent a few minutes explaining what she had learned to Kyoko.

Kyoko struggled to keep interest in what Ayano had to say. She dropped her cellphone to the ground and she tried to work up the willpower needed to keep herself from falling asleep on her living room floor.

Ayano could tell that something was up, so she asked, "Are you okay?"

Kyoko picked up the cellphone and said, "Yes, but I struggled to stay interested in your work stuff."

Ayano sighed and said, "I should of figured that you'd have that kind of reaction."

Kyoko replied, "I love you, but your work life is super bland and not compelling at all."

Ayano sarcastically said, "Thank you."

Kyoko nervously laughed and replied, "I'm sorry. Do you want to go on a date today?"

Ayano tried to hide her extreme excitement, because she didn't want to seem like a sentimental dork. She casually said, "That sounds like a nice event."

Kyoko knew her girlfriend well enough to be to tell when she was exaggerating the truth. She smiled and replied, "You're probably so excited that you're doing a victory dance."

Ayano blushed with embarrassment and replied, "I'm excited, but I'm not dancing."

Kyoko asked, "Wanna meet me at the fast food place that's across the street from my house?"

Ayano said, "Very well then. I look forward to seeing you."

Kyoko jokingly replied, "And I look forward to seeing your victory dance."

Ayano blushed again and responded, "Don't say such humiliating things."

Kyoko asked, "Am I making your face turn into a blushing red color?"

Ayano looked at herself in the mirror and saw how red her face looked. She sighed and said, "You know me too well."

Kyoko replied, "I could never know the love of my life too well."

Ayano continued blushing, so she said, "I better get going." Ayano got off the phone and started getting ready for her date with Kyoko.

An hour later Ayano walked out of her house and went into her car. She drove to the fast food place. On the way there, she thought about Kyoko. Kyoko often embarrassed her, but she gave Ayano more love and happiness than anybody else. Ayano had admitted to her friends that she and Kyoko were dating, but she tried to only tell them minimal about her and Kyoko's relationship.

Ayano parked her car near the fast food place. She got out of her car and saw two of her friends, Himawari Furutani and Sakurako Ohmuro. She was nervous about them being there, because she figured that Kyoko would humiliate her in front of them. She walked up to them and said, "Hi girls."

Himawari replied, "Hi Ayano. What's going on?"

Ayano sounded a little nervous while saying, "Nothing that extreme."

Sakurako asked, "Do you wanna have lunch with us?"

Ayano said, "I would, but I'm scheduled to have lunch with Kyoko."

Himawari paused and said, "Oh, you two must be forming quite the romantic bond."

Ayano blushed and replied, "Lets not say such things. Kyoko and I are just casually dating, nothing serious."

Sakurako said, "We haven't heard from you that much in recent months. I assumed it was because you and Kyoko were being lovey dovey everyday together."

Himawari looked at Sakurako and sternly replied, "You shouldn't say that kind of stuff out loud. You're probably embarrassing Ayano."

Himawari and Sakurako looked at Ayano. Ayano was blushing, but she said, "Kyoko and I just have a little crush on each other."

Meanwhile, Kyoko was inside of the fast food place and was talking to her friends, Yui Funami, Chinatsu Yoshikawa, and Akari Akaza. Kyoko said, "Hi girls. It's a cool coincidence that you guys decided to have lunch here too."

Yui asked, "How have you and Ayano been doing?"

Kyoko smiled and said, "We've been doing great. We've been forming quite the romantic bond."

Chinatsu replied, "It sounds like you've found the love of your life."

Kyoko nodded and said, "I sure have."

Chinatsu said, "I know what that's like." She looked over at Yui. Yui blushed and kissed her on the cheek.

Yui asked, "How long have you and Ayano been dating?"

Kyoko thought about it. She nervously laughed and said, "I'm not an expert at remembering stuff."

Chinatsu whispered, "Kyoko's a forgetful fool."

Kyoko said, "However, it's been some of the best times of my life. I deeply love Ayano and she feels the same way about me." She looked around and saw that Ayano was outside. She got up and said, "I'm going to give her a nice surprise."

Kyoko went outside and kissed Ayano on the lips. Ayano reacted in shock at the kiss. She gently pushed Kyoko away from her lips and nervously said, "Um, hi Toshino Kyoko."

Sakurako said, "That seemed like quite the kiss."

Kyoko proudly replied, "Thank you."

Himawari looked at Ayano and said, "You might have a closer bond with Kyoko than you think."

Kyoko put her arm around Ayano and replied, "Ayano and I are as close as humanly possible."

Ayano replied, "We shouldn't exaggerate."

Kyoko looked at Ayano and asked, "How couldn't I exaggerate about the most precious thing in my life?" Ayano liked what Kyoko had to say, but she was embarrassed to have Himawari and Sakurako listen to it.

Ayano looked at her two friends and said, "I better go to my date."

Sakurako replied, "I hope you and the love of your life have a good time."

Ayano blushed with embarrassment and responded, "Kyoko and I just have a small crush, nothing more."

Himawari patted Ayano on the shoulder and replied, "It's okay to admit your feelings. We're your friends and I think that your relationship with Kyoko is really nice."

Ayano responded, "Thank you."

Ayano and Kyoko went into the fast food place. They ordered their lunch and sat down at one of the tables. Ayano said, "You really embarrassed me."

Kyoko was genuinely confused, so she asked, "What did I do that embarrassed you?"

Ayano said, "You greeted me by giving me a big kiss and you did it in front of two of my friends."

Kyoko replied, "I thought it would be a romantic gesture."

Ayano said, "You made me look bad."

Kyoko smiled and replied, "I could never make you look bad, because you always look beautiful."

Ayano blushed and responded, "Thank you, but you need to be a little more subtle."

Kyoko asked, "Subtle? What for?"

Ayano explained, "For our dignity. Kyoko, you and I really like each other, but if we act too affectionate in public we'll look like a lovey dovey couple. We need to just seem like two close partners, nothing more."

Kyoko asked, "What's so undignified about expressing us expressing our true feelings in public? I don't want to hide my feelings for you. I want to grab a megaphone and scream about me having such an amazing girlfriend."

Ayano stuck her hands in the air and replied, "Please don't ever use a megaphone to say that."

Kyoko looked at Ayano and asked, "Are you embarrassed by our relationship?"

Ayano paused and thought about her answer. She realized that she shouldn't be embarrassed to be dating Kyoko. She loved Kyoko and she even though she was scared, she wanted to express her true feelings. She looked at Kyoko and said, "I'm proud to be dating you."

Kyoko smiled at Ayano and replied, "I'm glad to hear that."

Ayano said, "I'm scared, but not ashamed to be dating you." She took a long pause, because she was nervous about admitting something. She decided to say it. She said, "You're the love of my life."

Kyoko replied, "I sure am glad to hear that, because you're the love of my life." Ayano kissed Kyoko on the lips.

Ayano and Kyoko ate their lunch and drank their sodas while smiling at each other. They felt so relieved and glad that they had such a strong bond with each other. After lunch was over, Ayano said, "Thank you for having lunch with me. It was quite a nice date."

Kyoko replied, "I agree with that."

Ayano and Kyoko stood up. They held hands while walking out of the fast food place. Ayano looked at Kyoko and said, "Toshino Kyoko."

Kyoko looked at Ayano and gently asked, "What is it?"

Ayano said, "I just want to say that I love you so much."

Kyoko replied, "And I love you even more than you could ever imagine." Kyoko kissed Ayano. Ayano didn't care about anybody seeing them this time. She learned that true love wasn't worth hiding. Her relationship with Kyoko was a gift that she felt proud to have.
