Spying his younger brother standing between him and a much-needed bed, Dean stopped in his tracks. He held up a hand to forestall Sam's sanctimonious speech. "I know, I know. I drink too much. I mess around too much. My diet is crap. Did I miss anything?"
"That isn't what I was going to say at all."
"No?"
"No! I was going to say you look like shit."
"Oh. I just assumed...look, never mind. I'm just grouchy." Dean moved to the bed, sinking gratefully onto it. "And I look like shit because I feel like shit."
"Wow! Honesty. I'm impressed."
