The Maid and Us
Fanfiction by Micha Hyunjae
Prologue – Sold { Haruhi POV }
"It's decided then, Fujioka Haruhi, from this day forth shall be our maid until the debt is paid off by either her labor or by the money you originally owed us, Mr. Fujioka." Mr. Hitachiin, the head of a world-renowned and elite modeling and fashion agency, exclaimed.
Mr. Fujioka stood up and bowed with respect. "My daughter is in your care." On his way out to the door, he glanced at his daughter, Haruhi, and remorse was seen in his eyes. Haruhi simply nodded and smiled, through her eyes, she told her Dad that she'll be fine. When in reality, she's bursting with anger inside and her thoughts are filled with angst and anguish.
"Gaaaah!" I screamed in my pillow so the shouts would be muffled. Why am I screaming? Because I remembered a very tragic memory: my father, a person who's a gallant spender and small business owner that is just far too nice and generous, got a huge debt from the Hitachiins to prevent our business from going bankrupt. I don't really mind being a maid, what I hate about this deal is that I have to live in the Hitachiin household. Actually, judging the size of this place, this wouldn't be a house at all. It would be a mansion. No, probably even a castle! And what's more? I have to be the personal made of the Hitachiin children. I'm a bit fond of children and babysitting wouldn't be such a hard task, but the Hitachiin children are not children at all. They act like children, but they're not. They're actually my classmates, fellow First Year classmates, at Fugou High, the school for the most elite of the elite; in other words, it's where all the filthy rich kids go to.
I got in Fugou High because of my academics and because I was given full scholarship by the principal of the school who's a friend of my Dad. If I was given the choice, I would have rather went to Akihito High, a high school with the best academics throughout Tokyo. But Fugou High has academics that can absolutely challenge those in Akihito High, not to mention better facilities; I would still have rather gone to Akihito High.
If I went to Akihito High, I wouldn't have to put up with rich and posh bastards that much. And if I went to Akihito High, I probably wouldn't have had to meet Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin—the most evil twin in the entire universe; and also, my masters.
My first day on the job was quite horrible. I bowed respectfully in front of my two "masters" and greeted them by name. I was using my post polite voice and bowed my very best but instead, I received laughter from the both of them.
"Looks like we have another toy, ne, brother?" Kaoru asked Hikaru. Hikaru smirked and lifted my chin up. "She's small, but she'll have to do, right?" He told me as he leaned closer and closer to my face for a kiss. I shook my head and hit Hikaru in the head. This amused me and cooled me for a while; but this amused Hikaru as well, so from that day forth I have become his natural prey. Hikaru might be a pain in the arse, but Kaoru is someone else different. He might be chaotic and reckless with Hikaru around, but it seems to me that he is one level less chaotic than Hikaru, the eldest. Out of the two, he's my favorite. He always smiles whenever I call him by name and without Hikaru's antics, he's always nice to me.
I placed the pillow down and fixed my bed. It's 6:30 AM. I sighed. It's time to wake up my two masters. I glanced at my mother's picture, sighed and then put on my fighting aura, face and smile. I raised my fist to the air and exclaimed, "FIGHT-O!"
