Author's note:  Hi there!  Lil here!  I wrote this little story because I thought it was so cute when the only thing Claire wanted most was peanut butter, and Charlie wanders all over the island in search of peanuts.

Disclaimer:  I do not own Lost, it's actors, or it's plot.  The show belongs to ABC, the plots belong to the writers, and the actors belong to themselves. (although I wish I owned Dominic Monaghan and Victor, but alas!)  Anyway, on to the story!

Peanut Butter

Peanut butter.  Something so simple, yet so difficult to find.  But he said he'd get it for her.  He'd get anything for her just as long as it'd make her happy.  She said she'd move into the caves if he brought her some, and that was great.  But who knew the one thing she wanted would be so hard to find?

Airplanes are full of peanuts, millions of them.  Stewardesses are always trying to give them to you.  They should have like an entire stock of peanuts somewhere.  Yet there isn't a single Planters packet to be found.  Even Hurley didn't know where to find some.  He felt bad for accusing him of hoarding food from the rest of them, but he was desperate.  Not one single bloody peanut was to be found anywhere.  He'd asked everyone he knew, and everyone he didn't know.  No one had any clue where he could get some.

Now he was out wandering through the jungle, looking for a peanut tree.  He was pretty sure peanuts grew on trees, anyway.  Ridiculous.  Even if they did grow on trees, he didn't think they grew in the jungle.  And, if by some miracle there happened to be a peanut tree on the island, and he just happened to come across it, he had no way of knowing what one looked like.  For all he knows he could've walked past a hundred of the bloody things and not even recognized a single one.  He couldn't just give up, but he didn't know what else to do.

It was when he was walking back towards the beach that he found it.  He picked up the empty jar and, praying his idea would actually work, went to go find her.  "Start packin' your things.", he said to her, and handed her the only jar of 'peanut butter' he could find on the island.  One day, he'd get her all of the real peanut butter she could ever want, but for now, this was all he had to give her.  And that was fine.  She was smiling, and that was what mattered.

Another Author's Note:  100 extra points and a peanut butter cookie to you, dear reader, if you knew that November is National Peanut Butter Lovers' Month.  Seriously, I thought it was weird too.  But peanut butter is good, so yay!  It's much better than vegemite, no offense to any Aussies among us who like the stuff, but YUCK!  Anywhoo, please review, and be nice!  I'll give ya a cookie!
