Luna was a really strange kid. But she didn't mind. She knew better, she was special. At least that's what her mother always said. And she had continued to believe so even after her death. Her father had helped her, true but more so her friend. She has friends? you would ask. And she would tell you "no" because her friend was more like a sister; the sister she didn't have. But nobody knew about her. To everybody else Ginny had been her only friend, but in fact she was not.
Her friend was special. She was a princess, soon she will a queen, where, she cannot say. But Luna already knows about it, her friend told her. She knows all about the Guardians that here friend is part of. She knows she cannot say more or think more about it, but she knows. And that's enough.
Of course she pretends not to see the shadows that are every where, following Ginny's brother Percy or professor Snape. He had tried to tell the later about them and she had gotten a moth worth of detention, beside 100 points taken from Ravenclaw. Her housemates had not been too happy about that.
But it was alright because when her things were taken people believed that her housemates were doing it. But that wasn't housemates may not like her, but they didn't bully her. Of course nobody believed her. It was easier to say the Nargles were responsible, and in part they were, but the true guilty part were the bad shadows, the one affected by the Disease of Evil. Luna shuddered at the thought. Without her friend she didn't know what would be with her. Percy knows too, but he has his own job to do, he cannot help her, because he does not know everything. Not like she does.
Her friend had told her everything, even how that she was a princess if her parents were not the King and Queen. How come that she had a pretty crown in the Royal palace with her name on it and why when she will be queer she will never wear it. And why after all of this, she was not the real queen. She knew that was twisted your mind until you didn't understand anymore and you forgot, and never remembered. But she did,she understood and she remembered.
She avoided the ill shadows as much as she could, but sometime that couldn't be helped. They knew that she knew. How? Because in the future she was going to be like her friend too, a Guardian. And one day she will meet herself from somewhere else as well; she had been tempted to try this with Hermione, but her friend would be furious with her. Not to say that from what she heard Professor Slytherin was bound to come and she was very strict. If she angered her, perhaps it would take longer for her to be Guardian and she did not want that.
"You should not wish to be one so quickly."
She turned around startled at her own voice.
" You should enjoy not knowing everything while you can. Trust me on this. It is better if you wait."
She couldn't believe it. She was seeing herself. She wondered if
"I am not you. Well, I am Luna, but not you. I know you in the future and you are going to be great, just don't hurry alright?"
"I must leave, but we will meet again. I will meet you, remember that." and she made to leave.
Then she stopped as remembering something.
"Oh, I almost forgot. Sophy has been made queen. Be sure to congratulate her for me"
And she disappeared.
Luna didn't notice. She already was making plans for when her friend came as a queen. A crownless queen,she chuckled.
