This came to me while walking home in the cold one day. I don't know if its just gonna be a oneshot or if i'll make something out of it.

The cold felt good for once.

It felt welcoming and inviting. She actually wanted the heavy wind to blow her hair out of her face and the slight drizzle falling from above to sting her skin and nip at her nose.

She was tired. And angry. But tired most importantly. Only getting 2 hours of sleep does that to you. And she had decided that today, October 22, 2008 was officially dubbed the worst day of her life.

"I'd rather walk alone in the cold than in the heat with friends," she began muttering to herself. "No, that's a lie. But I'd rather walk alone in the cold than in heat with backstabbers. Hell, I'd rather walk alone in the cold than any other season…" her words drifted to a stop. She couldn't understand what she was trying to say and didn't even bother to decipher it.

A few yards away, a boy walked next to her. She didn't notice him at first, but her eye was drawn to his bright red windbreaker. He didn't look familiar and they had probably never met, but right then and there they had something in common.

She couldn't pinpoint it though.

The sky darkened, bringing a bitter smirk to her face. Soon it would be raining, and the rain would wash away all the guilt, regret, and remorse her body was holding in. Rain was the best cure.

Almost on cue, the skies opened up the drizzle that had been falling before turned into buckets of rain. She pulled her hood over her hair but it kept falling back down. She decided she didn't mind.

Her companion did. As soon as the water hit the ground, she spotted him out of the corner of her eye, running towards the park that they were walking by. His strides were long and fast and he was under the safety of the park's gazebo in no time.

She stopped and stared at him. Something about the way he stood there captivated her. He was looking back at her. And then she remembered.

She remembered the fight that took place earlier that day. The shaggy, brown haired boy yelling at his girlfriend, accusations flying back and forth between them. She remembered hiding behind her book, but not being able to concentrate because of their loud argument taking place before her eyes.

She remembered watching them break up.

Heartbreak hurts. She was an expert at that.

And it was then that Gabriella Montez decided that she'd rather walk in the cold with him than anyone else.

I know this doesn't really make any sense at all but I hope you like it anyways. Review please. :)

I'm also trying to force myself to update my other story, Learning to Fall. I feel guilty for just leaving it there /
