Sam diligently copied down the notes as she listened to the teacher as he droned on. Man, can he get any more boring? she wondered to herself. Suddenly, she became aware of a faint rumbling. No, no, no, no, no, she thought frantically. This couldn't be happening. Not again. The rumbling intensified and Sam felt herself growing tense. Hal grabbed Sam and led her to her doorway.
"Help! Help!" Fiona cried.
"Don't go!" Sam cautioned.
"I'll be right back," Hal assured, and took off. The shaking continued and she heard a terrible crash and a grunt of pain.
"DADDY!" Sam cried. She jumped up and took off as if running towards something.
"Sam, Sam, stop!" someone cried, grabbing her.
"Daddy!" Sam cried.
"It's okay. It's okay. I got you," the voice soothed.
"Austin?" she questioned.
"Hey, it's okay. I'm here," he assured.
"He never should have gone after her. If Fiona hadn't called him, he wouldn't have left."
"It's okay, Baby. It's okay." Austin soothed, holding her close. Sam sniffled and leaned into him, drawing strength from his comfort.
