Happy early Birthday klgrl53! Her birthday is on November 14th and this lovely girl is turning 15. So, if you can, tell her happy birthday.
Everything was back to normal. The Kraang and the Shredder were defeated, the mutated citizens were turned back to normal, Casey found his family, April was reunited with her dad, and the turtles had found Master Splinter and Leatherhead, as well as found a new home. They took anything they could salvage from their old lair and brought it into their new one. Sleeping arrangements were made, a new dojo constructed, and a new TV show had made its way into their daily lives. Yes, everything was as it should be.
That isn't to say that they no longer had problems. The Shredder was still out there, and Karai had stayed as evasive as ever. But that was something they could worry about later. Right now, their main focus was catch up in all the time they had spent away from their father and enjoy the fact that they were, once again, a complete family. However, neither party would talk about the time they spent away from each other.
Leonardo stared at the scene in front of him with a small smile on his face. His brothers were on the couch playing a new video game April had given them. She had called it "Mario Kart," but he liked to refer to it as "that racing game." He was about to join his brothers in the next round when he felt a paw rest gently on his shoulder. He looked up to see Master Splinter staring at him with his usual serious demeanor, but something seemed a bit off. Before Leonardo could ask, Master Splinter had retreated back into the dojo. Leonardo knew better than to disobey his father's unspoken order, so he followed the rat into the dojo and making sure the door shut silently. Leonardo sat down opposite from his father and waited for him to speak first. Master Splinter was not used to his new voice yet, so Leonardo took care not to talk too much in his father's presence.
Splinter took a deep breath and slowly let it out before bringing up a much dreaded topic. "Leonardo, much has changed in the time we have been away from each other. You and your brothers have become more independent since the last time we met, and the four of you have strengthened your bond as a team. I would like to know how his came about. Tell me what happened while we were separated."
Leonardo was hesitant about telling Master Splinter what had happened to them, but knew that this was not a request; this was an order. So Leonardo told Splinter all that he knew. He told him how he was comatose for three months; he told him about The Creep, Big Foot, April's mother, and all their other adventures. When he had finished, Master Splinter stayed silent; soaking up and processing what Leonardo had told him. Splinter stood up slowly and walked over to his son before embracing him.
"I am sorry I was not with you and your brothers during that time. I wish fate would have had a different plan, but all of you are safe now and at home. Through hardships, you have grown and become stronger. I am proud of you for that." Splinter let go of Leonardo and starts walking towards the entrance of the dojo. "Come Leonardo, I would like to see how this "Mario Kart" is played."
Leonardo smiled brightly and followed his father out of the dojo and into the welcoming presence of his family.
