It's Reality.
Summary: The mafia's just a role play is what Takeshi Yamamoto first thought, until he comes home to find red splatter in the kitchen.
I was walking home from school with my best friends, Tsuna and Gokudera, when we started talking about the role play business.
"I think that the mafia's kind of scary," Tsuna started as he shivered while he walked. I was confused; it was just a role play.
"C'mon Tsuna," I said as Tsuna and Gokudera turned to me, "I mean, Tsuna, the mafia is just a role play, right?" It's not like there are such things like the Vongola, or Mafia rings, or that you're actually the Tenth Vongola Boss." I smiled with my ignorance.
For some reason I didn't know then, Gokudera stopped his feet on the ground and screamed in my ear like an army general, "YOU ARE THE BIGGEST IDIOT IN THE WORLD, YAMAMOTO!!! YOU-YOU STUPID BASEBALL NUT!!!! THE MAFIA DOES EX-"
"L-LOOK, Takeshi! It's that your HOUSE!?" Tsuna interrupted nearly screaming with his index finger pointing to my home. Both Gokudera and I turned to see my house quietly standing there in front of them.
"You're right, Tsuna, that is my house." I answered, while I pointed at it. When I started to walking toward the house, I asked Gokudera and Tsuna, "Guy's wanna come in?"
Being polite Tsuna accepted and being Tsuna's right hand Gokudera he went in with us.
It was the same, excepted something was missing, it was filled with absolutely no sound, and I was concerned about the silence so I asked the air:
"Pops! Pops! Pops, I'm home! Pops!?" I started running still yelling to the atmosphere, "Pops, where are you!?" Pops!" I got to the kitchen and the words I screamed dropped down to floor like the figure must have done before. That was apparently the cue for Gokudera and Tsuna to come rushing in because they did, when I plopped right next to my dead words and my dead father.
"Pops?" There was no response for the cadaver, so I assumed, "Oh I get it, funny dad, lemme guess. Ketchup. You used ketchup. You almost had me there pops." I nervously laughed when there was still nothing but silence.
I could feel Gokudera angry presence get closer behind me, but then stopped by Tsuna's frightened aura.
I sniffed and smiled with my eyes closed, "C'mon pops!" A little tear tore out of my act and then more and more came, until at last every single tear has escaped my enclosed eyes, "Pops…" I managed to say with all of the tears pouring down.
I bent over to keep my stomach in place, because it was flopping everywhere. Then I leaned back to become straight again, and started to blink back the weak tears. I curved in my lips so it turned into a straight line on my face. "Dad…"
I looked up to the ceiling and closed my eyes tight and opened my mouth wide as I screamed the most distorted sound. I lowered my head to see my father's lifeless face. I bit my lip and whimpered like a sad little dog, "Pops…Why?....Pops…"
As I hushed my voice I could hear Tsuna's and Gokudera's. I turned back and saw Gokudera's lowered head, you really couldn't hear anything but I could just faintly hear a few sniffs. I turned to Tsuna with my watery eyes and he pulled his sleeve and arm to his eyes and dispensed great amounts of water for his eyes.
I twisted my head back to my father and more tears covered my eyes, "My dad…is….is…." Takeshi started to cry more and more, but with all his strength he howled, "IS DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
When everyone was calm enough to speak, they all went to the family room and sat with their dry tears. Takeshi was the first one to talk, "The mafia… It's all real?"
Gokudera sorrowfully nodded his lowered head, as Tsuna sat there in depression.
Takeshi nodded for a moment then started to shake his head rapidly and then finally said, "I am such an idiot; I'm so stupid!" Over and over again he shook his head and cried for his deceased "pops."
