Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Horrid Lorry" from Season 5, with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.
It was a busy time at the docks. All the engines were working hard, pushing and pulling freight cars.
One morning, Percy was late, and Cranky the Crane was quick to criticize.
"These ships can't be waiting! They have important cargo! If they are late, they will cause confusion and delay!"
"Show more respect for others!" wheeshed Percy crossly.
"You're only a little engine after all!"
"We've cut too much work!" huffed Percy.
"Perhaps they should replace you with a lorry!"
Percy was shocked!
Later on, Percy told the other engines what Cranky had said.
"Rubbish!" snorted James.
"We engines run this island!" added Henry.
Percy was worried.
"What if a lorry does arrive?"
I'm afraid it did, but not just one arrived, three arrived!
Cranky was delighted.
"Hey down there! You're no longer useful! These lorry's are taking over. In fact, one of them want's to talk to you!"
The lorry was super rude.
"What's that old piece of scrap iron doing here?! SCRAM!"
Percy puffed crossly away.
A little latter, Percy met Thomas and James. Another lorry was being rude to them.
Then, he saw Percy.
"Look! It's a little green goblin on wheels! You'll be scraped, just wait and see!"
"Bust my boiler!" exclaimed Thomas. "What a horrid lorry!"
"Despicable!" added James.
The next engine to meet a lorry was Toby.
"No wonder this railway is a mess! You should be scraped and placed in a museum!"
"I might look old, but I'm really useful!"
"Toodle loo!" replied the lorry.
"Toodle loo?!" spluttered Toby.
"Come along Toby!" interrupted his driver. "Don't bother to argue with him! Let's go to the flour mill instead!"
But when Toby arrived at the flour mill, he was shocked to see yet another lorry!
"What are you doing here?"
"We're doing your work! You're too slow!"
The foreman spoke to Toby' driver.
"I'm sorry. Times are changing I'm afraid."
"Toby might be old." replied the driver, "but he's reliable! Let's go to the farm Toby. They still need us there.
Toby puffed sadly away.
Toby' railway ran through a narrow gorge, but vehicles had to tackle a steep and dangerous road.
When Toby arrived, he saw the lorry from the quarry again, carrying loads of rock.
"That lorry is in trouble!" Toby thought.
And he was! The lorry fell off the cliff and crashed into some rocks below! No one was hurt, but the lorry was severely damaged and taken to the docks.
Percy looked at the lorry.
"What's this lump of scrap iron?" he teased.
"I'll be back!" replied the lorry. "Wipe that smile off your smoke-box!"
Percy laughed.
Then, Butch the breakdown vehicle arrived. He was towing the lorry from the flour mill!
"What happened?" asked Toby' driver.
"He was overloaded with flour and broke down!"
"Not very useful now!" said Toby.
The lorry's growled, and James whistled loudly.
"There's the third lorry on a barge! What happened to that one?" asked James.
"He was reversing and fell straight into the sea!" said the tow-truck driver.
Later, Thomas arrived. He looked at the three lorry's and laughed.
"Look! It's the Brothers Grimm! Smashed, broken, and sunk!"
The lorry's didn't return, and the engine's worked even harder to make sure they never came back!
