The sky grew dark quickly, almost as if time had sped up during sundown. This had greatly distracted Fone from reading, as he could hardly see with it being nearly pitch black outside, not even with the dimly lit candle he had sitting on the windowsill next to his bed. He opened up the curtain to his window, using his fingers to part the blinds blocking the view to outside. Looking out from the glass, he saw a big storm looming over their humble burg.

As he was about to go warn his cousins of the storm, all of a sudden the lights began to flicker before a loud boom was heard, followed by the bulbs going out. A yelp was heard was outside of his room, catching Fone by surprise. He could easily tell which one of his cousins it had been just by the sound of his voice.

"Fone? Smiley?" The voice came from down the hall. It sounded concerned.

Without hesitation, Fone went to his bedroom door and opened it, only to be followed by Smiley Bone, who did the same. They both look over to see their cousin, Phoncible P. Bone, standing in front of his own bedroom door looking somewhat worried. The shirt clad Bone let out a somewhat shaky, yet relieved sigh once he saw them.

"Oh thank god you're okay.." "What's wrong, cuz?" Asked the taller Bone, rubbing his tired eyes. "There's a real bad storm blowin' in." Fone reported to them, holding his favorite book under his arm. "How bad, Fone Bone?" Smiley asked, stretching his lanky form with a big yawn escaping his lungs. "Well-"

Before the Bone could finish, a big flash of lightning followed by another loud boom was heard. This made Phoney jump.

"Yipe!" He blurted out, the roaring thunder taking him by surprise. Smiley couldn't help but let out a chuckle. "C'mon cuz, it's probably just a little ol' thunderstorm, nothin' ta be scared 'bout. Right, Fone Bone?"

Fone stood silent at the top of the staircase. He was staring through the big window above their front door, watching the storm as it got worse in the distance.

"Fone Bone?" Smiley repeated, stepping closer to his other cousin, Phoney following close behind. Fone turned towards his older cousins, a bit of fear in his eyes. "Uh, guys..? I think this is much worse than a little ol' thunderstorm.." He said as he pointed to the large glass.

The two looked where he was pointing. Fone was right, this was a big storm. In the distance, there was a tornado beginning to form. It's dirt and wind body creating a long tendril, drilling straight into what once was the prettiest greenhouse in Boneville before another Bone had turned it into a big workshop and hangar.

Quickly, without much hesitation, Phoney made his way to be in front of the two. "We gotta get somewhere safe." He grabbed his cousins' wrists, pulling them to move forward as he hurriedly walked down the short staircase to the lower level of their house.

"Ohmygosh!" Smiley exclaimed, still looking toward the storm. "Ain't that where Percival Bone an' his niece an' nephew live?" "You're right! I hope they're okay!" Fone added, almost tripping down the steps as Phoney tugged on his arm to get him to pick up the pace. "Let's just hope it doesn't hit us." Phoncible muttered almost apathetically as he pulled his cousins into the small coat closet in the hallway, gently pushing their bodies down into a crouching position.

Their hearts pounded as they felt the house shake from the storm. Huddled together in the closet, they waited for the chaos outside of their home to pass.
