Hello, all. This fic was inspired by Dolly Parton's song Heartbreaker. It's just a little blurb, all I have time for at the moment. I'm hoping to throw a few more of these up today, but that would involve my toddler actually taking a nap, which may or may not happen. LOL At any rate, enjoy!
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Heartbreaker
She sat alone, her long, wavy black hair falling into her face as she thumbed through the pile of pictures on her lap. There was one of them at prom, another of them in the basement. Oh! Here was one of them on top of the water tower with their friends. And here, someone had gotten a picture of them by themselves, sitting on the couch at Christmas time.
She stared at that picture, searching his face for a trace, a sign, a hint of something she had missed, something that would help her understand what had happened to them. He had managed to make her think she could need him. His words had woven a magic spell around her, one she'd thought would never be broken.
Looking back on their relationship, she thought about all that would never be. He had promised he would love her, no matter where life took them. He'd sworn to be there for her. She had truly thought they were together forever, lovers until the end of their days.
Now I see I'm just like all the others, she whispered bitterly, hot tears falling onto the picture in her hands. He'd had a reputation as a heartbreaker, a man no woman could hold down. The girls he'd been with swore he was the best, in all aspects. Sweet little love maker, her friend Suzie had called him.
Heartbreaker, she whispered, tracing his face in the photograph with her finger. Couldn't you have been just a little more kind to me?
She supposed, knowing what she'd known about him, that she had, in a way, asked for this. She'd played with fire, and now she was feeling its burn. You would think she'd learn, after all he put her through, but she couldn't help it. She melted every time he looked at her, every time he kissed her. Whenever they were apart, she had thought he would miss her. Now she knew that was a feeling he would never be capable of.
She'd had such high hopes for their relationship, for their future. But that heartbreaker, that notorious womanizer he had destroyed all her dreams.
Michael Kelso had taken Jackie's heart, and left her behind, and she wasn't sure how long it would take her to recover.
Remember that Jackie and Kelso DID end up together at their prom, so she probably does have a picture of them. I set this during one of their break ups (most logically their final one, right before she got with Hyde, but you can pick-it doesn't matter). I hope you enjoyed, and please review! Thank you!
