A/N: No.6 How I love you. This is BL, Yaoi, Shounen-ai. Whatever you want to call it. That means Two boys love each other very much. Pre-Nezumi/Shion. On another note: I wanted to explore this random plot bunny I had.
Shion stood facing the shelves. Where should he start, he wondered. A good question, as his unlikely savior seemed to have everything in the world on that shelf. That was when one of the mice Nezumi employed chirped up near a book. Hamlet the title read, by William Shakespeare. William-who? Shion didn't know, and he didn't much care as he was drawn into the land of Denmark, many centuries away, and into the young prince's story of facing his uncle, and his father's murderer, Claudius, and eventually of his untimely death. All the while, the mice listened and watched quietly. As Shion read Hamlet's final words, his final wish he felt himself drifting to sleep on the couch he no called his own.
It was to this, which Nezumi walked in on later, the book still open on Shion's lap. Sighing, he reached out to take the book, noticing its title before putting it back. Shion, what had prompted him to take the naïve idiot in was beyond him, he was everything Nezumi detested about No.6, unawakened to the world and its ways, stupidly innocent. And yet, it was these same qualities that ended up drawing him in to the white-haired genius. It was also these same qualities that had caused the teen to save his life those years prior. Those same traits had led to him surviving.
However, it could not be forgotten that these traits had also caused the destruction of his home and family. Well, not necessarily those traits, but the ones responsible for those traits in the young man before him. For the briefest of seconds his mind wandered to thoughts about good things coming of bad things, which he quickly shook off. No, he decided. If Shion makes a move to stop the parasite bees, I'll deal with him as I would anyone from No.6. That's not true though, his thoughts whispered rebelliously, you want to protect him and-
It was then that, by some bizarre chance, Shion stirred, ripping Nezumi from his idle thoughts. The young genius straightened up groggily, "Nezumi?" he spoke, words slurred slightly with sleep, "You're back?"
"Yes." Nezumi said, finally removing his jacket. "You were reading Hamlet?"
Shion's yes widened and he frantically searched for the now-missing book. "Yeah, where did it go?"
"I put it away a little while ago when I got back." Was the monotonous reply.
"Oh." The genius said dumbly. His panicked search abruptly ended and he allowed himself to relax. "What do you do when you go out?"
"Lots of things." Another curt reply. The evening continued on in relative silence, broken occasionally by hushed questions and dull responses. It wasn't until they were both in bed that Nezumi's mind began to wander again.
Maybe you're afraid to admit that you have feelings for him.
A/N: I was aiming for 500 words but I kind of overshot it with my Author's notes. Oops. Well anyways, this is more of a drabble than an actual fic. So anyway, I love all of you!
