So Close
"Bulma, dear! Dinner's ready!"
Their lips parted instantly, and her arms, which had been wrapped tightly around his waist, went slack.
"Oh, and honey? We couldn't find Vegeta in his usual spot…So if you find him, could you tell him that it's time for dinner?"
Bulma choked on a laugh, and looked into Vegeta's dark eyes, still only inches away from hers. The initial shock had went out of them and were replaced with annoyance and confusion, along with a hint of anger. She caught her breath long enough to whisper,
"I found you. It's time for dinner…"
His mouth twitched in the corner, and she saw a rush of amusement in his eyes before he turned away to find his clothes. He was stripped down to the shorts that he trained in, and if her mom hadn't called… Bulma sighed. She almost had him.
Before she could even begin to make herself presentable, Vegeta had already pulled his pants on, and now he had on his shirt, which his delft hands managed to button in less than two seconds. She checked, just to make sure…Yes, every button was perfectly lined up. How did he…? Now he gave his hair a shake and ran his hand through it a couple of times, since she had ruffled it mercilessly. (Man, she loved that hair) He went over to the window, kicked out the screen before she could protest, and just before he climbed out of it, he turned to her, giving her a look that froze her where she stood. She saw what was in those black eyes; he didn't have to say a word. They said: This isn't over. I'll be back.
Then he let out a sharp laugh and jumped out of her window. She ran over to it so she could watch him fly away. It was then that she realized…He's STILL wearing that pink shirt?! Yes, and it still said "BADMAN" on it. She laughed to herself. Oh man, Bulma, she thought. You had better be careful with this one. If you don't watch out, you could fall deep. Really deep. And he won't be there to catch you, he might just watch you fall.
