Chapter 1

Garde

The garde were walking towards the ruins of nine's apartment. They were sad.

"Ella should be here with us.", said Marina.

"Yeah. I guess I really miss her," Nine muttered. Things were getting desperate if Nine was sad. He never showed weakness.

"What should we do next?", asked Marina.

After they fled the battle with Setrakus Ra, they were grim. None of the garde liked running from a battle. This time, they knew it was necessary.

Sam had gotten telekinesis. The humans could now receive Legacies, if they prove themselves worthy.

"We should look for more humans with Legacies. They will almost definitely help us after we showed Setrakus Ra's true identity.", said Six.

"Yeah, nice save there, Four. We kicked ass!", said a grinning Nine.

"I think Six is right.", said Sam, looking dreamily at Six.

Suddenly, Sam started glowing the deep blue shade of Loralite. He floated a few feet off the ground. He spoke in Lorien's voice.

"Kings cross", said Lorien. Winds burst out of Sam's body. The winds reminded the Garde of Lorien. They smiled.

The winds stopped, and Sam collapsed. Marina healed him, and his eyes snapped open.

"What happened?", asked Sam.

"Short version: you were possessed by Lorien.", said Adam.

"Cool.", said Sam. "What next?"

"I don't think we should have any doubt. We go to King's cross.", said Six.

"That's in, like, England, though.", said Nine.

"I have a flying legacy. I can take two of you," said Five, who we agreed to take with us after the battle. He looked ashamed at his previous betrayal.

"We are not flying with you. Period.", said Nine.

Nine was the only one who, despite his efforts to help us, still didn't trust Five.

"I can teleport any one else.", said Eight.

"Can I have a word with Nine?", asked Five.

Nine grudgingly agreed. They stepped into an abandoned building.

"Nine, I'm sorry about what I did. I'm sorry you don't trust me. I have a gift for you.", said Five.

Nine rolled his eyes. Five handed him a package. Nine doubtfully opened it. Inside, there was a letter. It said:

Nine, I'm sorry. As you know,On Lorien, during the attack, a man told me that you would play an important part. He also told me that I'd die. I accepted these odds. I was never meant to be your Cepan. Your true Cepan died in the first wave of assaults. It was my fault. It broke my heart to see you alone, so I came with you. I'm sorry that we had this pointless argument. It resulted in my death. Yet, my spirit still resides in you. Remember me. You will play a part more important than you can possibly imagine. The Garde must trust each other.

A tear ran down nine's face.

"I'm sorry, Five. If Sandor wants me to trust you, I guess I will."

They walked back outside.

"Great. Can we get moving?", snapped Six, impatiently.

They formed groups. Five, nine and Sarah were flying. The rest were teleporting.

"Race you," said Eight, before teleporting.

"Cheater," grumbled Sarah.

The ride was uneventful, except for when Five accidentally dropped Sarah. They arrived at king's cross a couple hours later. Five was there first.

Eight appeared next to them.

"Sorry. I accidentally teleported to the Great pyramids. Then, I saw an ice cream place. Couldn't resist," said Eight, grinning.

"Where should we go next?", asked Marina.

"Explore the place. Beat up Mogs. You know, the usual." Suggested Nine.

Platforms 1 through 8 were uneventful. Around platform 10, they saw a dark robed figure.

"All in for following him?", asked Eight.

Everyone raised their hands.

AN: In case anyone is wondering, Eight was brought back to life.
