Freedom

The five of them are sitting in one room. One lying on the bed. The other one sitting in a chair near the door. One standing before the window. One has disappeared into the shower. And one is just standing in the middle of the room. Every now and then pacing around, but always returning to that same spot. There where he can see all of them.

"It's strange, isn't it?"

His voice is soft. Like it has always been when they were together. There was no need to act around each other, to keep up there masks and to hold on to their training.

The red head before him nods. Ice blue eyes staring outside, watching the snowflakes fall down.

A sigh is heard from his right and the boy tears his gaze away from his friend near the window. Watching the boy lying down on the bed. Gray eyes closed. His face relaxed.

"Is this real?"

The crimson eyed blader smiles gently. He had felt the same. A couple of years ago. When he ran away. And then again, when he met the BladeBreakers. These kids were free. Care-free. Something they have never been. Something they have longed for. For ages...

All of them look up when the door of the bathroom opens again. The smallest blader of the team walking out. A pair of black sweatpants, no top. Without a second thought he walks over to the blond haired boy sitting on the chair.

They have no secrets for each other. No one of them.

Without a word he climbs onto the other one's lap. Snuggling closer into the broad chest. Smiling when Spencer wraps his arms around his waist. His chin resting on Ian's head.

The relation between these five boys is complicated. Has always been. And it probably will always be.

"Kai..."

The slate haired teen looks back at his best friend. His smile growing wider when he sees just what it is Tala is staring at. Outside, in front of their house, is standing a youth. A very recognisable boy.

"Shouldn't you go to him?"

For a second a surprised look crosses the Wolf's face. Before he mock-glares at his best friend.

"Oh come on Tal… As if we didn't know…"

Looking from the Phoenix to the Falcon, Tala is for a moment at loss for words. So he does the first thing that does come to his mind. Sticking his tongue out.

"Childish my dear…"

Kai's voice is laughing when the red haired blader pulls up his shoulders, a smile on their faces.

"You were rather obvious…"

Spencer's soft voice catches everyone's attention, causing a blush to form itself on Tala's face before he rolls his eyes and starts walking out of the room.

"Weren't we all?"

Grabbing his coat, he walks out, through the snow, towards his lover. Knowing that his youth friend's eyes are fixed on their disappearing backs and that Bryan has stood up from the bed to stand behind his lover. Arms wrapped around his waist. His chin resting on his shoulder.

Rei's voice breaks through the silence that has fallen after their greeting.

"You truely are one strange family…"

Their smiles match.
