He blinked; it was 8 A.M. Later than his usual, but still considerably early.

Normally, he'd already be up and about. Usually before most everyone else, except Squall.

Well, not today - for a few reasons. Them being, one, he'd had a very late night; and secondly, it was a Saturday. It was one of those days where most people declared it a crime to be up before ten in the morning. Some even stretched it as far as noon.

He wasn't one to sleep in THAT absurdly late, but he figured, there's always a first time for everything. He sighed, brushing his spiky blonde hair out of his eyes. Hopefully, he'd be able to sleep in.

"You're up late."

The brunette narrowed his blue eyes at the younger, pale-haired boy.
"Define 'late'. It's a Saturday. I'd be up even later if Zidane hadn't thrown a cold towel on my face."
"Did he live?"
"Just barely."

Zidane looked up from the kitchen counter.

"What do you mean, 'just barely'? You were slower than a Tonberry."
"When I'm fully awake, I'm not."
"Why do you think I picked today?"
"...You stupid monkey."

Squall sipped from his mug thoughtfully. "...I'm surprised he's still sleeping."

There was a scraping of chair legs on tile.
"I'll go wake him up."

Zidane and Squall watched as he disappeared up the stairs.

He rapped the door with his knuckles.
"Cloud?"

No response. He tried the handle; it turned. He eased the door open, and made his way to the bed.

The mattress gave way to his weight as he climbed on. He reached out, and tentatively shook the sleeping man's shoulder.

"Hey, Cloud?"
A groan. Cloud was a light sleeper.
"...Wha?"
He shook the blonde again.
"Hey...wake up?"
Cloud turned to face him.
"Nnnh...what time is it?"
"Uhh...a little past nine thirty."
"...what."

Cloud shifted to lie on his back; the younger boy took the opportunity to flop on his chest.

"Oof-"
"Wake up already."
"Don't whine like that, it doesn't suit you."
"Well, you're not getting up."
"Because I want to sleep in."
"Wake up."
"Can't I sleep in?"
"No."
"Why not?"

The boy pouted.

"Cause I'm not letting you. Get up."
"You're a brat."
"And you're lazy. Get up already."
"I can't even have another fifteen minutes?"
"No."

Cloud let out a sigh of mock exasperation.

"You're a brat. Ten?"
"I'll consider."
"You'll consider? What, I need to bribe you now?"
"Yeap."
"What with?"

A thoughtful pause.
"Cuddles."
"...All this just for cuddles? You're really silly. C'mere."

Luneth snuggled against Cloud with a grin.

"Why couldn't you just flat out ask me next time?"
"It's more fun this way."
