Time ago Kanda was jealous of Lenalee, when both were being consumed by the pain caused by the lack of the needed balance in their lives.

By the time they met each other, Kanda was Kanda and he had already turned down and fell in the oblivion of his name "Yuu" and his short life. And he had clung to the promise he made to that woman who he did not even know her name, but this did not stop recognizing a grief in those eyes, very similar to his: black and asiatic.

All because of that well-known and scary shadow of loneliness she used to project, he had to put up all the anger produced by those complaints and that weak personality of hers. He saw the people around making foolish attempts to help her out to hold back her tears. But the good intentions by themselves are not enough. It did not matter how many dresses, toys and flowers could be sent to her. She did not need anything of that, and the only thing she was asking for, the only thing she did not received.

Devasting. Totally unknown for all those idiots who said to know everything about this world.

Thereby, Kanda saw the unstoppable degratation of Lenalee in front of his eyes. It did not matter how much he wanted her to react. Either He did not have what she was yearning for. Even though he would know exactly what could bring her back, it was out of his posibilities.

When everything was over the critical point, Kanda had to look at that girl, -who he think he knew well, to realize she was sick.

Sick, sick, sick.

Kanda did not have any idea about what to be sick was. He did not have any virus nor illness because he had a better inmune system than the human regular one, -Those damned scientists did not stop talking over and over about it. So that concept was distant, abstract and impalpable.

But when Kanda looked at Lenalee, he got it.

She was getting rotten and no one was able to stop that. There was not medicine to heal a poisoned soul. And Kanda knew, undoubtedly, she would die and she would never come back.

She would go to that place where nothing would torment her, and the memories would not exist. Where the total peace reings.

He knew this place very well, much better than they, -the humans who were born from wombs. Much better than they would ever know it. And she would be the only one who could stay without turning around.
