My sister wanted me to show her how to upload stories, so this story has no real meaning. Keep in mind, I don't always upload this fast. I was just off this weekend, and I got a little excited. I hope you enjoy!
Good enough for silver
Mrs. Lovett walked up the stairs from her bake house and returned to her small shop labeled 'Mrs. Lovett's Meat Pies.' Whistling, she skipped over to the counter, reaching behind it to grab the broom.
"Toby!" She yelled.
"Coming, mum!" A voice was heard, and a small body almost flew into the shop, landing beside her.
"Don't run so fast! Gonna give ya'self a 'eartattack. I need ya ta go ta the market and buy a couple, things, got it? I'd do it meself, but I gots ta clean this place up. Spic and span, that's my motto." Toby nodded fervently, willing to do anything Mrs. Lovett told him. She smiled and handed him the money, shooing him away with a list.
Mrs. Lovett swept, humming songs and dancing. As she swept, she hummed a song she knew by heart. It was about a beggar woman who had nothing in the world. She loved the part when a kind man had given the beggar woman a piece of silver. The only thing she had ever possessed in the world.
"Silver's good enough for me…" She sang softly. She glanced up, thinking of a certain barber. When she thought about it, she realized she was no better that Toby, the foolish little one. She would do anything, anything, the one she loved, the one she pined for.
"Mrs. Lovett." She gasped and dropped the broom, whipping around.
"Where is Toby? I want to see him." Mr. Todd asked, looking at her suspiciously.
"I sent 'im out ta the market. You're just gonna 'ave ta wait." Mrs. Lovett said. Mr. Todd glared.
"Why do ya need 'im for anyway?"
His glare intensified, and he stalked off, grumbling something about revenge.
Mrs. Lovett sighed.
Mr. Todd was not a kind man.
But he had given her silver.
And she loved him for it.
My sister now knows the ways of the upload. For those who are reading the fic and find it worthy of their time, I am posting a kind of, mission. A challenge, if you will. I have recently discovered writer's block. Review to tell me what character I should write about next and give me suggestions on how to write it. Much appreciated.
